Hudson ate two servings of biscuits and ate peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked beans, dinner roll, peas, and pineapple. He was chanting names in his highchair at breakfast. Over and over! Over and over! Over and over! Ok, you get the idea! "Hi Da Da! Hi Da Da!......" "Hi Tu Tu! Hi Tu Tu!......" "Hi Lor Lor! Hi Lor Lor!....." Sorry Mommy, but if it's any consolation he wouldn't say "Gary" either!! Haha!! Little Turkey! :)
The kids were having a blast playing on the mattress; jumping and bouncing. They stopped and started studying the alphabet poster. I took this picture when Sophie was pointing out the "H" to Hudson and telling him, "this is your letter Bubba!" She also pointed out the "A" for Avilene, but Avi is not yet interested! Then she showed Hudson the "S" for Sophie, but gave him strict instructions NOT to point at her "S." Wow! A bit possessive! LOL!! Cracked me up!!
We read lots of books this morning. I had to get out the Christmas books and they loved "Frosty the Snowman." Hudson played with the legos, wrapped his baby along with Sophie while she wrapped her babies, played with the food toys, and the dinosaurs. I took this next picture when Sophie was giving Hudson more instructions about listening to the music!! Ha! Look at his eyes. He's definitely absorbing what she's showing him and telling him!

Hudson - 11/29/2016
I had a wonderful time in Louisiana visiting my daughter, her husband, and their extended family. First time I've worn shorts and T-shirt for Thanksgiving! I have to post this picture of me standing in front of this incredible oak tree in Lake Charles. I saw a possum, ate alligator sausage, and navigated traffic to find my way through Houston, so I consider it all a huge success! It's always special to come home to lots of hugs and loves from my Little Treasures!
Hudson ate two servings of waffle and ate hash browns for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken & cheese quesadilla, ate carrots, and maybe a bite of mandarin oranges.
Hudson looked all around when he came in, gave me loves, explored the entire room, and then after about 15 minutes started chanting, "Hi Lor Lor, Hi Lor Lor....." I'd bet he said "Hi Lor Lor" at least 50 times! And the only reason he stopped at 50 was because she went to work! Ha! Everything was back to normal for him!! Ha! I took this first picture when Lauralea was getting ready to leave. Such a contented dreamy look! "Bye Lor Lor, Bye Lor Lor." He certainly is a loving little boy.
This next picture makes it look like Hudson is trying to balance on one foot! Actually he was spinning in circles, but it's hard to capture spinning with a single picture! He was really concentrating and working hard to keep spinning around and around. Have you seen him doing that? I think this was the first time I've noticed it. He'd stop and get his balance and was really experimenting with the sensation of going around and around!

Hudson - 11/22/2016
Hudson ate two servings of jelly toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate rice, bean, and chicken burrito, sweet potatoes, and tropical fruit.
Hudson's understanding of language and vocabulary is increasing so quickly. I love observing that! Today he pointed at the Baby's saucer (before Nora arrived) and said, "That Nor." Yup you're right Bubba, that's the saucer Nora uses!
Lauralea was reading to Hudson and Sophie this morning and he was very engaged in the books. At least until he saw me headed into the lunch room with the breakfast tray. He hopped off Lauralea's lap and sprinted for the gate. Ha!
When Sophie and Hudson started playing together this morning Sophie said, "Me and Bubba are headed home." Oh really?! How come? "We're sick. Go home, go to bed, take a bath." :) Then Sophie arranged the yellow benches like you see in the picture below and that was their "car." Just briefly, then it was their "airplane." I asked if they were in their car and Sophie said, "No, this airplane." I like how casual she's being - sitting with her leg crossed over. She then added, "Going to zoo on airplane."
I took a picture of this Avilene looking at this poster and realized how high it was mounted. So I lowered it and the kids acted like it was a new poster. :)

Hudson - 11/21/2016
Hudson ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch he ate ham sandwich, peas, and mandarin oranges.
First, I want to just remind everyone that Little Treasures is closed Wednesday - Friday for Thanksgiving this week. Also, Lauralea will be covering for me on Monday the 28th. There will be no Blogs on Monday and I'll resume the Blogs on Tuesday. I'm so looking forward to seeing my daughter in Louisiana this week!! :)
The first thing Mr. Routine Bubba did was go get two of the dolls and have me wrap them up and he put them in their usual napping spot. I love how "routine" is so important to Hudson and to most children as well. It gives them security and comfort knowing things are the same!
All three of these pictures were taken when Hudson was playing alone. Baby Nora was already taking a nap and Sophie and Avilene had not yet arrived. Hudson doesn't care; he just dives right in and engages with the toys and stays busy. I took this first picture because I always think it's cute when they are on the floor reaching to the back of the shelves. He was pulling out some ice cream cones and other food toys.
Hudson worked hard to get this dress-up vest/sweater piece on in the 1st picture. He tugged and tugged on it to get it over his head. And he was proud of himself. Good work Hudson. Then he decided to celebrate with a barbecue. Nothing like barbecuing a book!! More dress-up clothes in the 3rd picture.

Hudson - 11/18/2016
Hudson ate oatmeal and a couple bites of banana for breakfast. For lunch he had a few bites of salmon patty, ate flat bread, carrots, and apricots.
Yesterday afternoon Kenzie and Riley asked if we could get out the tunnels. So I connected them and they helped coax Hudson into the tunnel. So I got a picture of him heading in and a picture of him coming out the other end. He did it over and over. Most kids his age will go part way, mess around in the middle, and maybe head the opposite direction. Which irritates those behind them!! Hudson understands language so well and will follow directions so that makes this activity much easier. Avilene was watching him come out the other end, but she wasn't ready to get inside. :)
I got the "fish tank" down so Hudson could look at it close-up and I could take a picture and tell you about our morning ritual. I always ask, "Shall we wake up the fish?" Which simply consists of plugging in the cord and watching the bubbles and lights. And telling the fish to wake up!! This morning Hudson was pointing up at them on the shelf and saying, "up, up.." (wake up) In my opinion - It's the best kind of fish tank; rarely needs cleaning and the fish never die. And the fish are very realistic looking! Ha!
Hudson was playing with the dress-up clothes and kept bringing me more to put on him. He kept saying, "more more" and he'd go get more until we had at least 3 layers on him. Then he moved on to the legos and I took this next picture. He'll put them together and take them apart - over and over. Good small motor skills along with the cognitive - figuring out how to hook them together. I love how long he'll stay on task with something that interests him!

Hudson - 11/17/2016
Hudson ate cinnamon toast and grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked chicken, dinner roll, hash browns, and a few canned cherries.
Hudson was taking the dolls to Lauralea and having her wrap them up again. "Hi Lor Lor, Hi Lor Lor. Night night, night night." I took this picture because this is where Sophie always puts her babies to sleep. Sophie wasn't here yet and Bubba was using the spot. He had all six dolls tucked in there. He kept going back to Lor Lor and saying, "night night again."
This picture should be titled "You stack em up Bubba and I'll knock em over!!" Then he'd pick the blocks up and after 2 or 3 times of that he'd move to another spot. And Avi was right behind, hot on his tail! Repeat, repeat, repeat! :) He never yelled at her one time! I was impressed!! I was monitoring it pretty closely, but he was enjoying having her there and tolerating her shenanigans!!
I'm including this picture of Bubba and Avilene standing at the window to give you a reference for this next note. If you ever look closely at the wooden frame around the window and sill you'll see the evidence of years of little people chewing on it!! Yesterday afternoon Hudson was apparently chewing on it too because Sophie yelled at him, "Don't eat it Bubba!! Just lick it!! Don't eat it!!" Hahaha!!
I love this picture of Hudson and Avilene. She was being silly, getting tired, and doing some real laughs and some fake laughs. She was already sitting there and he sat down in front of her. Except he pretty much ended up on her lap!

Hudson - 11/16/2016
Hudson ate bagel and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ham, whole wheat elbow noodles, corn, and half of apple bites.
Well, what we suspected has been confirmed!! Hudson's head is harder than Sophie's. They were playing on the mattress and smacked their foreheads together! OUCH!! Poor Sophie started howling and Bubba just sat there looking at her while rubbing his own forehead.
This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and Hudson had been watching Lauralea put a ponytail in Sophie's hair. He kept pointing to his own hair so Lauralea pretended to put a ponytail in his hair too. He sat super still and happily waited!! :) Speaking of Lauralea, whenever she comes out to the Daycare room Hudson immediately goes and gets a doll and doll blanket, takes it to her, and says, "night night, night night." She wraps the baby up and he holds it. She did it once and now it's the normal routine.
Baby Nora was the first one here and as soon as Hudson arrived he went and got some toys for her to play with. I took this picture when he was getting stuffed animals and trying to hand them to her.
We did some more dot painting at Art Time today - Hudson and Sophie were the 2 "big kids" painting. Ha! They did quite a bit of painting until I shut it down when they (Sophie in the lead) started "squeezing" the bottles and puddling the paint on their paper. Ha!! That's very creative, but it's pouring out!!

Hudson - 11/15/2016
Hudson ate whole grain waffles and ate pears for breakfast. For lunch he ate tuna & crackers, sweet potatoes, and a few mandarin oranges.
I took these first two pictures yesterday afternoon after nap time. How sweet is this? Reid was lounging on the couch waking up from his nap and when I turned around here was Bubba laying on Reid's chest. It was so precious. I've mentioned several times that Hudson loves Reid!! :) And Reid loves his Bubba buddy too. Except he thinks Hudson is his personal caregiver!! Earlier Reid was lounging on the couch just like the pictures below and held out his foot for Hudson to pull his socks off. (Again!) And Bubba did! And again Reid said, "Pull harder Bubba, pull harder!!" Then he was pointing to the changing table and said, "Put them on the changing table." And Bubba did.
Here's a picture of Hudson standing on the blue balance beam this morning. This is the first time I've seen him stand there so he's being very brave. I said, "Hey Sophie, Hudson is standing on the balance beam." I'd no sooner said that and he fell off onto the mattress. He immediately got back up there so I was impressed with that!!
We were doing some sign language this morning and Hudson did "thank you" perfectly. Nice job Bubba!! We have about a dozen signs we do along with all the major colors. I asked Sophie; "What color is Gary's hair?" You already know what Hudson said!! "Yellow!!" Ha!!

Hudson - 11/14/2016
Hudson ate several bites of chex cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate pickled beets. He loves those beets.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Hudson kept busy checking out all the new stuff. He hasn't seen this toy set for 4 months so it probably is pretty much new!! Sophie had on some dress-up clothes and Hudson brought this hat for me to put on him. When he was done with it he brought it back to give to me. Ha! It was pretty cute because I told him he could just put it down, but no, he wanted me to take it. And he was saying, "I done, I done, I done."
This food set has ice cream cones and then lots of "flavors" to put on the cones. I took this picture when Hudson and Sophie were just stacking all the flavors in a pile. Hudson likes stacking things and lining them up in a row or just grouping them together.
And of course I have to post the weekly picture of Bubba talking to Grandma. "Hi Tutu, hi Tutu." Did you notice he's sitting on the legos table top again? One of his favorite spots to hangout.

Hudson - 11/11/2016
Hudson had bites of oatmeal and licked (no bites) a dried plum for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of hash brown casserole, ate biscuit, and a couple bites of mandarin oranges.
All week Hudson has been saying "Hi Nor, Hi Nor" to Baby Nora. He'd move around to where she could see him, he'd wave at her and say, "Hi Nor." Baby Nora is not here today and when Avi arrived Hudson started saying, "Hi Nor" to her. Ha! So I said, "This is Avi, say Hi Avi." He said, "Hi Nor." (over and over...Ha!!)
Hudson was playing with the food toys again and putting the pancake in the toaster. He loves that toaster! I included a picture of Sophie with another toaster and Hudson was laughing while watching her make the pancake fly in the air. I love this picture of Sophie because she was saying to Kenzie, "Watch this Kenzie!" and Sophie didn't even watch the pancake flying. (You see the pancake, right!? Ha!) I showed Kenzie this picture and she said, "That's a keeper!!"
Hudson has obviously been watching Reid (and Cooper when he was here) use the bananas for other things beside food!! He was walking around this morning holding his banana out saying, "boom, boom, boom." Ha!
Hudson frequently puts blankets or clothes over his head and walks around blind. He'd been doing it for quite awhile before I took this picture and I was almost too late as it was sliding off his face. I haven't said this lately, but Hudson is a joy to have in my Daycare.

Hudson - 11/10/2016
Hudson ate sandwich thin toast and a few blueberries (I limited it to just a small serving - we don't need too many more blowouts this week!!) for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey, dinner roll, most of green beans, and ate his strawberries.
Hudson was so excited to see Reid this morning. It was very cute. He was squealing, heading for the gate to greet him, and waving his arms around. He loves his Reid friend. There is a lot of activity today with Reid here and with Riley and Kenzie getting out of school at 11:00.
I took this picture of Hudson playing with the food toys - here he is putting the bread in the toaster. He worked hard at this for several minutes. I like how he'll find something that interests him and then he'll stay on task for a long time. No problems with staying focused! :)
Here's a picture of Hudson lining up the frogs on the little ledge. Reid was putting toys up there earlier and obviously Hudson had been watching. :)

Hudson - 11/9/2016
Hudson ate most of whole wheat toast and a bite or two of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate ham, crackers, bean & bacon soup, and half of mangoes.
Several times I've heard Hudson putting two words together; essentially making his first sentences. So far I've only heard two word sentences, but he could be doing more. Although the words may not always be totally clear yet, they are very understandable. This morning I heard; "more block" when he was carrying blocks over to Sophie one at a time and she was building with them. I also heard him say, "my diaper" when he was showing Lauralea he had on his diaper.
Another thing Hudson has been doing everyday that I've been forgetting to tell you; after his nap and when he's ready to get up he'll put his binky in it's proper place and he'll also take time to make sure his blanket is on the nap mat. Every day. It's really cute how he's getting his stuff organized. (Can you say Bubba's Tax Service? Ha!)
I took this first picture yesterday afternoon when Kenzie and Riley were building "motorcycles" with the blocks. I made Hudson's motorcycle low to the ground so he could touch the floor with his feet. Kenzie and Riley found that to be hilarious. :)
I took this picture of Hudson this morning when he was showing Lauralea how he was feeding his baby. That's pretty impressive how his baby can gulp down that orange juice from an open cup!! Ha!

Hudson - 11/8/2016
Hudson ate whole wheat bagel and apricots for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.
Reid hasn't been around for a few days and it was nice to have him here today. (He'll also be here on Thursday this week.) Hudson really likes Reid and Reid is a good friend to him as well. Reid wanted Hudson to take his socks off and I managed to get a picture of the end of the project. Reid was saying, "Pull harder Bubba! Pull harder!!" Haha!!
Reid was standing on a toy shelf and stepping down, except Hudson was directly below him and I cautioned him to be careful. For those that may not know Reid, his "S" sound comes out like an "H" sound and sometimes it's soooo cute!! (Sophie is always Hofie.) And he's super silly!! Anyhow, when he was stepping down he yelled at Hudson: "Look out Bubba cause Hanta is coming to town!!" (Santa)
I took this next picture when Reid was combing Hudson's hair. But it actually started with Hudson combing Reid's hair and Reid was content to let him do it. Then they were taking turns combing each other's hair.
Lauralea was on the phone talking to her Mom and Hudson was pretty sure she was talking to Tutu. When she hung up the phone he kept asking, "Tutu? Tutu? Tutu?" Ha! (I guess no one "hangs up" a phone anymore. Ha!!) He was also listening to Lauralea sing songs for Sophie and he was walking around mimicking what they'd been saying.

Hudson - 11/7/2016
Hudson ate bran cereal and cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate pizza (canadian bacon, cheese, sausage), corn, and a bite or two of tropical fruit. I had Baby Nora sitting in her saucer in the lunch room with us at Lunch Time. She was making some low pitch squealing noises and Hudson was mimicking her perfectly. It sounded like the same tone, volume, etc. That was pretty cute. When I was putting her in the saucer he was pointing to show me where to put her. "She goes right there." Thanks Bubba!! :)
Here's a picture of Hudson and Avilene playing at the legos table. Hudson had brought these dress-up PJ's to me so he could wear them and he left them on for probably 10 minutes. As you can see he still has his shoes on - I just put his arms in the sleeves. The PJ's are a bit long and they kind of trail behind him when he walks. Avilene managed to grab them once and once she stepped on them. :)
Hudson did some coloring on a coffee filter at Art Time. I took this picture after he was done and we were also finished spraying water on his picture. It's fun to watch the colors run after the water is sprayed. As you can tell by the picture he does a LOT of coloring. I was kind of holding the filter while he was coloring so it didn't move all around the tray. He moved my hand as if to say; "It's ok, I got this." :)

Hudson - 11/2/2016
Hudson ate biscuit and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked beans, dinner roll, peas, and pineapple.
I took this picture yesterday when Miss Amanda came and sang for the kids and used her puppets as well. Hudson was totally fine with her being here...until she pulled out her guitar .... and that freaked him out!! As soon as she started playing the guitar he started howling. I got his binky (which I never use except at naps and in emergencies...and his was an emergency!) and he snuggled beside me on the couch and watched it all. He was totally happy to wave "bye" to her when she was leaving!! Ha!
Hudson makes me laugh with how much he likes to mimic everything. I did a big stretch and Hudson immediately was leaning way back on the couch making funny sounds. So funny!!
This is more about Sophie, but I want to put it in Hudson's blog as well. She was talking about something I couldn't understand, but the word "frustrated" was very plain! (Good vocabulary word for her age.) I asked, "Who's frustrated?" Sophie pointed at Bubba and said, "That guy!" Haha!!
Here's a picture of Hudson and Sophie doing one of their favorite activities again; bouncing on the edge of the mattress. Avilene would briefly join them and then wander off. Hudson was patting the mattress beside him trying to coax Avi up there. So cute.

Hudson - 11/1/2016
Hudson ate waffle and hash browns for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken & cheese quesadilla, carrots, and a few bites of mandarin oranges.
Today from 3:30 - 4:00 there is a young lady (Miss Amanda) coming to play her guitar and bring her puppet(s) to entertain the children. I'm just giving you a heads-up in case someone was going to pick up their child early. It should be fun and I scheduled it so Kenzie and Riley can be here after school.
It was so fun to see Hudson this morning after being gone for a couple of days. He's so snuggly and gives so many loves. It's quite adorable. When he was a baby I would never have guessed he'd be my most snuggly child. So much fun and I love it.
Sophie was also glad to see him and they played well this morning - with supervision of course! Ha! I took these pictures after Sophie had worked hard to pull these two benches together and she said, "I hide." (This was one of Cooper's favorite hiding spots.) Hudson was invading her hiding spot and they squabbled a bit and I told them to give each other some loves and I captured that with the 2nd picture. They were also bouncing side-by-side on the mattress and Avilene joined in the fun.
Reid was not here until after 11:00 and Hudson was mimicking what Reid was saying. Reid said, "Don't repeat me Bubba!" Haha!! That was so funny! Then Reid was trying to be tricky and was perched on a stack of big blocks. They slipped out from under him and he scooted to the floor in a hurry! He immediately told Hudson and Sophie: "Don't do that at home cause it would hurt!!" I was roaring because it was all hilarious! Reid said, "And it's not funny at all!" Sorry Reid! :)
