Hudson had several bites of malt-o-meal cereal and maybe a raisin or two for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, half of elbow noodles, ate mixed fruit, and applesauce.
Hudson was SUPER excited to see Baby Nora today. He immediately started making trip after trip to pile toys in front of her; especially some legos toys. Avi joined him and so did Sophie. But Hudson stayed focused on his mission for a long time and soon had quite the stack of legos in front of her. For babies that are content to just sit, it's probably a miracle they ever learn to crawl or move! Ha! No reason to move at Little Treasures! The other kids will provide all the entertainment you need!!
Sophie and Hudson had the jingle bells and tambourines and Sophie asked me to sing songs with them. So we began with Jingle Bells - for the umpteenth time this season! Ha!! (Actually I love that song! But we've sang it countless times!) Here's a picture of Hudson doing his part. :)
Sophie was reading this book to Hudson a minute or two earlier so I asked them to "stage" this picture! Pretty good, huh!?! :) Then Sophie said to me, "I tell you something in your ear." Ok. (That never works real well because my hearing aids squeal! Hahaha!!) She said, "Can I hide from my Mom!?!" Then to Bubba she said, "Ok, Bubba let's hide together!!" It's 9:45 in the morning and I'm thinking, boy I hope the parents come early today or this may not end well!! :)
In the last picture Sophie is hiding under the blanket! There is really nothing more entertaining than a game of Toddler Hide-n-Seek! Sophie yells out instructions and Bubba and Avi just wander off to play elsewhere! Ha! Sophie yells "GO HIDE" to Hudson (repeatedly) and then shows him where to hide and instructs him not to move!! Then she pretends to "find" him at least a half-dozen times. (Making him stay in the same hiding spot makes the game much more efficient!) Sophie is counting, "1 2 3 4, here me come!!" Reid is just observing it all and at this point he says, "You gotta count to 99, not 3!!" Ha! Sophie kept peeking around the corner at Hudson saying, "Found ya!" (That is from a book about Hide-n-Seek that we read this morning!)

Hudson - 12/28/2016
Hudson ate biscuit and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked beans, couple bites of dinner roll, couple bites of peas, and ate crushed pineapple.
Hudson's new favorite phrase: "Mine mine, no no Avi.... mine mine, no no Avi...." Avi really never wants what he has, but she loves taking something and simply watching his face for his reaction. She seems quite amused by his reactions! Lauralea and I have always considered this one of the most important aspects of our work; teaching some social skills!! :)
He is verbalizing so much now! He and Lauralea have a morning ritual where he takes a doll and blanket to Lauralea and she wraps up his baby for him. (Then he takes it to the same spot and puts it to bed.) Today he took the doll and blanket to Lauralea and said, "Cu up, cu up." (cover up)
This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. Hudson and Avi were having lots of fun laughing and crawling in and out of the igloo.
Avi and Hudson were both showing off some good balance skills on the mattress. The picture doesn't really show much, but Hudson was bouncing up and down on the mattress and actually getting both feet off the mattress. That's another milestone at Little Treasures! :) We celebrate everything here!!
Cousin Sophie is here today and when I took these pictures she was trying to get Hudson to lay on the "bottom bunk - the correct way!!" Ha! It was pretty cute because first she showed him how and then got out and tried to push on his butt to hurry the process along! He doesn't look real thrilled by the events, but he was still somewhat cooperative!! :)

Hudson - 12/27/2016
Hudson ate waffle and hash browns for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of chicken & cheese quesadilla, two servings of carrots, and ate most of mandarin oranges. Everyone is a little slow coming back from Christmas!! Ha! Only Avi and Hudson are here today, but by the end of the week everyone will be back. I always love watching how they act after being gone for a few days.
Hudson was so excited to be back at Little Treasures as he sprinted back and forth across the room jabbering and getting toys. It was so cute. I took this picture when he was putting shapes in the shape sorter and he was having success getting them in the right holes.
Avilene was playing on the mattress and Hudson decided it was the perfect time to give Avi some loves. She didn't whimper or yell, but she was scrambling to get away!! Ha! Nice try Hudson! None of us get to snuggle her for very long!! (I told Lauralea this morning I never want to quit feeding Avi her bottle because that's the only time I get to snuggle her!! A very busy girl and she likes to keep moving!)
Lauralea was able to stop by Little Treasures for several minutes this morning and she read books to Hudson, much to his delight. Earlier, before she left the first time this morning Hudson had been bringing Lauralea books and saying, "Look Lor Lor, look Lor Lor...." Then he'd say, "Now more! Now more!" and race off for more books. :)
Like Daddy Colin said this morning, Hudson is just saying more words ALL the time!! It's so fun to hear his vocabulary exploding. And with Hudson "exploding" is the perfect word to describe what's happening. He was saying, "Bye Lor Lor, bye Lor Lor" when Lauralea was leaving. Then he wanted a love and said, "love love love" as he raced for the gate to give her a love. He was chanting "hi Avi, hi Avi, hi Avi" this morning and then he wanted her to look at a book too. "Avi book, Avi book..." She wasn't too interested so his pleas turned to "Aviiiiiii book, Aviiiiii book, Aviiiii book."

Hudson - 12/22/2016
Hudson ate raisin english muffin and blueberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey slices, flat bread, green beans, and strawberries.
A Milestone at Little Treasures for Hudson today! :) Standing on the balance beam! It won't be long now and he'll be jumping off onto the mattress! We were all cheering for him and it was so cute and LOUD!! Reid said, "Bubba! You are the best!!" Then Reid added; "I think people in New York can hear that!!" Ha! Hudson was pretty proud of himself and stood up several times. He was working very hard at being brave!
Reid, Sophie, and Hudson were working at building several towers with the big blocks. Reid would start them and Hudson was adding blocks. Then Reid intentionally tipped it over, Hudson would laugh, and they'd rebuild it. Hudson was laughing hard at Reid's antics!!
I want to wish all of Hudson's Family a Merry Christmas! I sure love having Bubba at Little Treasures and he is a joy to care for! We are spending Christmas Eve in Ronan where my Mom now lives and where my Sister lives. Then Christmas Day we'll be at Plains with Lauralea's Family. See you back at Little Treasures on Tuesday the 27th.

Hudson - 12/21/2016
Hudson ate jelly toast and mangoes for breakfast. He ate all of his lunch as well: bean, rice, chicken burrito, sweet potatoes, and tropical fruit.
Hudson heard Reid say "hi"to Lauralea and he came running around the corner repeating as fast as he could; "Hi Lor Lor, hi Lor Lor,.." Lor Lor was playing peek-a-boo with Hudson this morning. She got distracted and was focusing on something else and he started saying, "More boo, more boo, more boo.." Apparently she didn't respond quick enough because he yelled, "LOR LOR! More boo, more boo!" Haha!
I mention this frequently, but Hudson LOVES his Nora friend! I have no idea how many times he said her name this morning!! He loves packing toys to her and I took these pictures after he'd stacked up several toys in front of her and then added the airplane. Ok, I think she has enough toys!! :)
Sophie bumped her leg on the climber and I was busy changing a diaper so she moved on to show Hudson. her wounds She said, "Bubba, you wanna see my owie!?!" Then she said to me, "I need a bandaid!" I said, "Show me the blood and I'll get you a bandaid." "Right here." Invisible blood. Reid said, "It leely leely dark lead!" (really really dark red.)

Hudson - 12/20/2016
Hudson ate bites of cinnamon roll and no canned prunes for breakfast. For lunch he ate scrambled eggs and hash browns, waffle, and cantaloupe.
Hudson was sitting in the swivel/rocker chair and Avilene was running back and forth behind him and peeking around the corners. They were both loving it and laughing hard.
Reid was pretending that the shapes in the containers were his "dynamite." And he was setting up "targets." (Those are his words.) Hudson was totally watching with great interest!!! :)
I thought this was cute how engaged Hudson was in playing with the food toys. He was being very quiet and arranging food on the plates. At the moment I took the picture he had a pretzel, celery, and carrot. :) He also played at the barbecue again (a favorite spot) with more food toys.
Sophie was drinking her "wine." This may look like milk, but she said, "This is my wine. I like my wine. Here, will you hold my wine? Where did my wine go?" To Hudson she said, "Don't touch my wine!" I'm posting this picture on Hudson's blog too because I noticed in the picture below that she's apparently influencing Hudson!! Ha!! I try not to be TOO nosy, but I had to ask, "Does Daddy drink wine?" She said, "No, beer." LOL

Hudson - 12/19/2016
Hudson ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork sandwich, half of peas, and half of mandarin oranges.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids kept busy all morning playing with the "new" stuff! (Which explains why Hudson was quite distracted when Daddy Colin was waving "bye" to him!) I may often say, "Avi played with Hudson!" This first picture depicts what is really happening! Ha! They are playing "side by side" (which is normal play for Infants and Toddlers) and is often referred to as "parallel play." They seem to be enjoying experimenting with the airplanes.
Sophie and Hudson were on the mattress and Sophie was tickling him. She said, "I tickle Bubba!" She wanted him to "get her" too and was saying, "Get me Bubba, Get me Bubba, Get me Bubba!" Hudson didn't seem to be responding quick enough because she yelled, "NOW!!" LOL!
Hudson was very busy playing all morning. He also participated in Story Time, singing and doing some sign language. Two weeks ago when Baby Nora arrived he'd say, "Nor Nor." Last week he was doing both syllables; "Nora" Today it was "Hi Nora!" Well done Hudson!!

Hudson - 12/16/2016
Hudson was only here for an hour this morning....not feeling well. However, I still am going to do a short Blog to share a couple of things. First thing, Hudson loves Frosty the Snowman. (Next week I'll post a picture of Hudson with Frosty!!) We have been reading the book and singing the song. This morning he was singing, "Frosty..man, Frosty...man..." In a "sing song" voice. Super cute.
Daddy Colin came and got Hudson while we were still having breakfast. After they were gone Reid slid Hudson's empty highchair over beside the table and said, "Say hi to Bubba!!" That made me laugh!" He has a very funny sense of humor!! I was telling him that Hudson puked yesterday afternoon and again last night. Reid said, "Wow! He got a lot of germ in him!!"

Hudson - 12/15/2016
Hudson ate cinnamon toast and grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked chicken, dinner roll, hash browns, and canned cherries. At breakfast I had the toaster plugged into the extension cord that "Frosty the Snowman" uses and Bubba wanted Frosty's light back on! Ha! "Frosty on, Frosty on, Frosty on.....,"
Hudson was playing on the mattress with Reid and Reid yelled, "Gary! I (s)niffed his butt!! Bubba poopy!!" Then after I changed him Reid said, "I can (s)nell that garbage diaper!!" :)
Reid was throwing the stuffed animals at a target he'd set up. So I simply said we couldn't throw toys because the Babies don't understand the difference between "soft" toys and "hard" toys and they'll throw anything! Apparently Reid was thinking about that because several minutes later he decided it was time to teach Hudson the difference between "soft" and "hard." He brought over a stuffed animal and a large legos piece. "I'm gonna teach him what's hard and what's (s)oft!" Except I was standing there with the Lunch tray and Hudson was focused on the food! Ha! "Bubba! This is hard (legos) and this is (s)oft!" (stuffed animal) Hudson said, "oh." Ha!
I took the first picture when Hudson was practicing bouncing up and down. A great way for him to get the feel for bouncing and still keep his balance! In the 2nd picture he is playing with one of the Action Figures that Reid brought from home. I took the 3rd picture to show there are lots of ways to play with the legos! Even barbecue them!!

Hudson - 12/14/2016
Hudson ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ham, whole wheat elbow noodles, corn, and two servings of apple bites.
We did some dot painting today and Hudson did lots of painting. His dot painting approach is interesting and somewhat unique! He basically goes into a "trance" and just pounds the dot paint bottle up and down and I move his paper around! LOL Hey, it works! If I get distracted doing something else he just pounds the paint in one spot and will wear a hole in the paper until I return to my job! Ha!
Aunt Molly picked up Sophie at Noon today and was impressed (and maybe surprised, Ha) that Hudson was laying nice and still on his nap mat. Also, at that moment he was the only one in that room. He does so well and was asleep within a few minutes just like he does every day at Little Treasures! He is such a routine little fellow (as most of them are) and that is one reason it works so well. Plus, when he wakes up he'll lay there nice and quiet too and then we go out to the Play room.
Speaking of routine here's a picture of Hudson taking Reid's blanket to him in the igloo. He delivers that blanket to Reid several times every day! Ha!
Hudson was playing inside the block structure that was left over from yesterday afternoon that Riley and Kenzie built. He played in it and Avilene deposited toys in beside him!!

Hudson - 12/13/2016
Hudson ate waffle and pears for breakfast. For lunch he ate tuna & crackers, sweet potatoes, and maybe half of his mandarin oranges. While he was in his breakfast highchair I turned the monitor on for Baby Nora's nap time and he heard the sound machine. He starts singing, "Night night Tutu, night night Tutu...." Ha!
Hudson likes to take toys to Baby Nora when she arrives or gets up from a nap. I happened to have the camera in my hand and took this picture when he was putting toys in front of her. Nora managed to grab some hair and I was expecting him to yelp!! However, it must not have hurt much because he didn't even flinch or act like he noticed! Ha!
I asked Hudson to hold the bottle for me while I was getting Baby Nora ready for her bottle. (Probably 2 -3 weeks ago.) Every bottle since that time (for Nora and Avilene) he thinks that's his job and he does awesome just standing in front of me holding it and waiting for me to ask for it. I don't think Avi totally trusts his intentions! Haha! She keeps a close eye on him while he's holding her bottle! The look on her face says, "Why did you just give him my bottle!?!" I told him, "Thank you Hudson" and I held out my hand expecting him to give me "five." Instead, he came over and laid his head in my hand. Awww..it was so sweet.
Reid brought some "Captain America" toys with him today in his backpack. (I don't care if children bring toys from home, but they must bring enough for everyone!) He brought four of them and carried them in his backpack that you see Hudson searching in the picture below. Ha!

Hudson - 12/12/2016
Hudson had some chex cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate pickled beets.
This has been a pretty typical Monday morning at Little Treasures! :) The kids are usually a little more "testy" with each other and everyone is a bit tired from a busy weekend! Hudson did just fine with the exception of a few squabbles with Cousin Sophie!! :) Those two know how to push each other's buttons. Who's the instigator!? It's pretty equally balanced!! They take turns! Ha! (This will be posted in both of their Journals - see if I can instigate a Family Feud! Ha!)
Here's the explanation for the first picture: Avi had bent over and laid her head on Baby Nora's head (to give her a love) and it was SO sweet!! I grabbed the camera to see if we could stage a replay! "Avi, give Baby Nora a love!" Hudson heard me say that and came running over to give the Baby a love and Avi, of course, just pretended like she hadn't heard me! Ha!
Hudson LOVES to be a helper! And I try to give all of them opportunities to be helpers! He now considers it his job to hold the Baby's bottle (see picture below) while I get the baby ready and he'll hand me the bottle when I am ready! Thanks Hudson. So I decided to take a picture this morning. Well of course as I was taking the picture Sophie yelled, "The mail's here!!" Hudson spotted the Mailman, dropped the bottle on the couch, and ran to the window!! LOL!! I laughed so hard! (Also, note in the picture he is wearing those masks again! Ha!)

Hudson - 12/9/2016
Hudson ate a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. No canned prunes. He's ate them before, but wasn't interested in having a bite this morning. For lunch he ate a large serving of hash brown casserole, ate a biscuit, and 1 piece of mandarin orange.
Hudson was so cute when he saw Lauralea this morning. He was excited; spinning in circles and clapping. And chanting, "Hi LorLor, hi LorLor.." Then he was pointing to the Daycare Room saying, "Come on, come on, come on....." :)
I was using my electric tooth brush this morning in the Daycare Room and Sophie, Hudson, and Avi came running to see it! Sophie was pretty convinced it was Lauralea's toothbrush. And they are identical. "That Lauralea's toothbrush?!?" No. :)
Whenever Reid drops his blanket Hudson will frequently take it to him. I took this picture when Hudson was trying to hand the blanket to Reid. Reid was engrossed in his play and said, "You can lay it down Bubba." Ha! However, Hudson really wanted Reid to take it!! After all that's how it usually works!! The boy loves his routines!!
Here's a picture of Hudson having a love surge for Baby Nora! He was giving her sweet loves so I got the camera and asked him if he'd give her a love again! She had turned over, but this is still super cute. It's a Baby Pillow!! Well done Bubba!!
We used a box and a blanket this morning and had a whole new place to play! Sophie said it was her house and Hudson played in there with her. I guess Reid believed her because later he asked Sophie if he could play in her house! :)

Hudson - 12/8/2016
Hudson ate some raisin english muffin and a few bites of cantaloupe for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey slices, dinner roll, green beans, and mangoes. This isn't about Hudson, but I think you'll like it: I was singing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" at breakfast and Reid said, "Can you stop singing that!?!" (After about the 6th time.) Why? "It kind of getting boring!" LOL
Here's a picture of what Hudson frequently does in the morning; interacting with "Lor Lor!" "Hi Lor Lor, Hi Lor Lor!!" Lauralea was having breakfast and preparing for her day and when I took this picture she was playing peek-a-boo with Bubba. He was peeking over the top of the gate and was giggling.
Reid was pretending to thump Avi and Hudson with the Big Bear's feet and they were getting a kick out of his attention. Then he wanted to hide under the bears and asked; "Put bear on me so no one can see me." (Not really "asking," but he said it kindly! Ha!) Avi and Hudson were looking to see what happened to Reid!!
Hudson played with the cars and one of the car ramps. I primarily took this picture so you could see it's a "3 Mask" day! He likes wearing those masks around his neck and wore the three of them all morning! We played Christmas songs and read lots of books at Story Time. He was also taking toys to Baby Nora and was wanting her to reach out and take them. Very cute.

Hudson - 12/6/2016
Hudson ate bagel and apricots for breakfast. At the breakfast table I asked Hudson, "What's your name?" He said, "Yellow!!" Haha! For lunch he ate everything; chicken, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.
Hudson always has to arrange his blanket when he gets up from his nap and make sure it's laying on the nap mat. Yesterday he was standing on the blanket pulling on it and saying, "stuck stuck stuck..." In yesterday's Blog he was "stuck stuck stuck" when Avi sat on his foot. Today he was done with breakfast and ready to get out of the highchair; "stuck stuck stuck."
I love this picture of Hudson at the drums. He looks like a serious musician!! (With a mask around his neck.) He drummed several times this morning,
I'm including a couple of "group" pictures today. They haven't all been together for several days and maybe that's the reason they played in close proximity to each other for a long time this morning. Avi is on the left, Reid is upside down, you can see the back of Hudson's head, and Sophie is in the background.
I thought this was so cute how the 4 of them were all huddled around the legos creation. Reid was mostly concerned about Avilene grabbing the legos but she did awesome and never touched them once! Reid said, "Avi might wreck it." Then he looked at her and said, "You do your own Avi." Ha! A few minutes later Hudson was spinning around and around for a long time. He plopped down backwards and set right on the legos creation! Smash! Ha! Sophie was the only one left playing with it, but she just laughed. Probably because I was laughing so hard - it looked hilarious! Reid said, "Bubba make explosion!"

Hudson - 12/5/2016
Hudson ate bites of breakfast: bran cereal and raisins. For lunch he had two servings of cheese & canadian bacon pizza, ate corn, and tropical fruit.
Here are some pictures of the kids playing with the "new" toys in this toy set. They had all the phones out and here's what their conversation sounded like. "What are these things Hudson?!?" So Hudson explained to her; "These are 'flip-phones' that were used by our ancestors!! Ha! (And still used by Gary, except he is in the process of getting a smart phone - meaning; I'm not giving out the number until I figure out how to use this thing so the Daycare Families can message me!!)
I thought this was a cute picture of the two of them sitting and reading together (Sophie is not here today.) The picture looks pretty peaceful right!? Here's what happened as soon as I took this picture. Avilene had just plopped down and sat right on his foot. Bubba was trying to pull his foot out from under her and was saying, "Stuck, stuck, stuck...!!!.." :)
Here's Avilene totally examining the "bear mask" on Hudson's face. (We've had little kids her age that would cry when the masks were out. So they had to go bye-bye! The masks, not the kids! Ha!) I like how Avi has her finger up to her mouth....hmmm...."What exactly is that thing Bubba!?!" Hudson had been struggling to get the mask on (he had it around his neck) so I helped him get it on. Then after I took the picture he started whimpering. It kind of surprised me when he started to whimper and I said, "You can take it off if you don't like it!" Boy he whipped that thing off so fast!!
Here is an FYI in case someone looks at Avilene's Blog today. Whenever the kids interact like these two did this morning I take advantage of that and their two Blogs will look very similar. Anytime I can "copy and paste" I use it!!

Hudson - 12/2/2016
Hudson ate malt-o-meal cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, apple bites, and mixed fruit.
This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when the only ones left here were Hudson, Riley, and Kenzie. Hudson loves it when their focus is totally on him!! Ha!! They had him in the swivel/rocker chair, covered with a doll blanket, and were giving him the royal treatment. He was soaking up the attention!!
Reid is here today and the kids love having him. (He'll be here very regular starting Monday as his Mom begins a new job.) I'm including this picture of Reid because he was spraying water on his art picture and on Bubba's art picture too. Hudson did lots of coloring on the coffee filter (Bubba's picture is on the right) and then we spray water on them and watch the colors run.
Avilene and Hudson have occasionally been after the same toy lately. (Which is why I have 3 and 4 of everything!! And that helps sometimes! Ha!) Hudson has mastered the favorite Toddler word "mine" and uses it frequently. This morning he was trying to hold three phones and run across the room from Avi yelling, "mine mine mine." Nope, they don't come with social skills and that's why I focus on the social-emotional aspect! :)
Hudson was trying to help Reid push one of the big bears into the igloo when I took this picture. I guess Reid wasn't convinced he was helping because he said, "Don't take it out; push it back in.!" Actually Bubba was trying hard to help! :)

Hudson - 12/1/2016
Hudson ate raisin english muffin and blueberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, crackers, sweet potatoes, and one cherry.
Hudson watches and learns everything that's happening around him. He knows when anyone takes off shoes and/or socks they go on the changing table. He watches me take care of Baby Nora and Avi and wants to mimic that too. This morning I put Avi in her highchair at breakfast and noticed she was missing one shoe. Where'd I find it? On the changing table. Thank you Hudson. (Sophie is not here today.) I fed Nora her bottle and Hudson immediately picked it up and took it to the changing table. He took off his socks - to the changing table...ok, you get the idea. :) Then I turned around and he was trying to yank off Baby Nora's socks! LOL! She was fussing and he had her totally SURROUNDED with doll blankets and stuffed animals; which wasn't helping much, but he was really trying! After I fed Nora baby food I turned around and Hudson had some food toys (ice cream cone and spoon) and feeding Nora with the spoon jammed in her mouth. Yikes! So I modeled how he could pretend feed one of his (dolls) babies. :)
Hudson and Avilene were at the window just looking at the snow and watching it snow. And smacking the window! Apparently in unison too, right!?
Here's a couple pictures of Avi and Hudson doing what Toddlers do! :) Avi was opening the door to the oven and Bubba would close it. Except he wanted her to leave it closed and wasn't thrilled that she kept opening it. She would open it then look at him to wait for his response. :) She liked initiating that response!! In the last picture Avi was playing in the legos drawer and apparently Bubba didn't think that was acceptable. Ha! I informed him it was totally acceptable.
