Hudson ate half of french toast and ate strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate salmon patty, whole wheat dinner roll, taste of squash, and two servings of tropical fruit.
This is just an FYI for all the Daycare Families: Tomorrow, June 1st, a new girl is starting at Little Treasures. Her name is Atley and she is one month younger than Avilene. So it's going to be a bit busy around here - at least until the end of the school year. Then the Cline girls have different activities planned for the summer. And Reid will be "very part time" until he starts Preschool the first of September. A different child always changes the dynamics of the daycare somewhat so I'm just letting you all know the Blogs may run a bit later than they have been.
All day yesterday and today - every time I change Hudson's diaper - he's been saying, "I'm not a big boy anymore. I'm a baby." Haha! Goofy guy! He's still climbing up the steps to the changing table, and climbing down, doing fine with me changing him, but he's no longer a big boy!! :)
Well, if you look at the 4 pictures I have posted today you'll have a clue as to what Bubba's favorite activity has been yesterday afternoon and all morning today!! I took these first 3 pictures after nap time yesterday and I was laughing so hard at Hudson't antics. It all started by him just draping the shirt over his head and bouncing on the mattress. Then it graduated to him trying to ram his head into a shirt sleeve and, as you can see in the pictures, that was a tight fit! Then he proceeded to stroll around the room blindly bumping into things and "looking" out the window and "looking" at some books. The more I laughed the more he performed!! It was so funny! And as you can see by the last picture they just picked up this morning where they left off from yesterday!! Hudson was saying, "Look at me, look at me, look at me....." Avi started saying, "at me, at me, at me."

Hudson - 5/30/2017
Hudson ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork chops, whole wheat toast, roasted vegetables, and two servings of applesauce. Shortly after Hudson arrived Baby Nora was doing some loud and painful sounding grunts and squawking. Hudson knows that familiar sound and immediately said, "Nora trying poop!" Yup, you're right Hudson. I always try to say something to encourage her in the process; something like "good job Nora, you can do it, keep trying." She wasn't successful then, but a few minutes later she was trying again and Hudson was saying, "You can do it, you can do it......" So cute. And she was successful that time!! :)
Hudson frequently asks me "what time is it?" So this morning I asked him; "Hey Hudson! What time is it?" He said, "I already know." Haha! Good. So you don't need to be asking me! Speaking of time I took this first picture below when Hudson was saying to Sophie, "It not morning time; I already sleeping." Haha! They were having a blast on these toy shelves and Hudson was laughing so hard. And continued to laugh.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and everyone stayed busy all morning. In the next picture Hudson was busy with the pop-up toys and Nora was trying to participate. These pop-up toys play a little rhyme each time they pop-up.
I loved how hard Hudson was working on stacking the blocks you see in the picture below. (Notice how it's leaning a bit to to right!) I could watch his little brain working and he was using strategy to get it higher.

Hudson - 5/26/2017
Hudson ate oatmeal and a few dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce.
Bubba was playing with the xylophone and Nora crawled over to where he was playing. Hudson said, "Hey Gary! I'm feeding Nora." :) I think "feeding Nora" was a much more fun way to play with the xylophone!! I like how he's concentrating!!
Hudson was jabbering while playing with the phone. He said, "Gary! I'm gonna tell you a question on my phone. I sent you a message." He kept prefacing what he was saying with the phrase; "I'm gonna tell you a question." "Hey Gary! I'm gonna tell you a question. Grandpa Rick take me to your house." "Hey Gary! I'm gonna tell you a question! Are we going outside?" Hey Bubba! That actually was a question that time!! :)
Momma Maddy - I've been telling you about Hudson climbing up to get his diaper changed and climbing back down. It's hard to tell in this picture, but he's actually climbing down after getting a poopy diaper changed! He said, "Watch out everyone!! I'm climbing down!!" :) Just an FYI: I stand by him to keep him safe! :) I asked him to just stand there so I could take this picture and he totally cooperated with me!

Hudson - 5/25/2017
Hudson ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate pizza we made ("we" means Lauralea). Whole wheat pizza crust, hamburger & sausage, tomato sauce, mushrooms, olives, peppers, and pineapple.
Yesterday afternoon Hudson saw that I'd posted the Dot Painting Art on the side of the freezer and he asked, "Are you gonna tell Maddy!?!" Haha! This first picture is also from yesterday afternoon when Hudson and Sophie were playing on the little teeter-totter. Hudson was giggling the entire time; obviously enjoying himself.
Avilene and Bubba were having a blast running and peeking at each other. Avilene was yelling, "Bubba Bubba Bubba." The 3rd picture below may look a bit more calm, but it really wasn't that way! They were still cheering, squealing, squirming, and laughing! In my world there is not a more beautiful sound than the sound of children enjoying life!! :)
Lauralea was taking turns doing "walk walk, trot trot...." with the kids this morning. In this last picture I like how they are all watching and waiting for their turn.

Hudson - 5/24/2017
Hudson had a bite of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, most of toasted rye bread, ate sweet potatoes and most of carrots, and ate fruit salad.
Before Hudson arrived Sophie asked, "When is Bubba coming?" Reid said, "He already here; you just can't see him." Ha! What a goof! Also, I have a note from yesterday afternoon Hudson was headed down the sidewalk and said, "Bye bye, going to meeting." :) I loved that because he was initiating his own dramatic play.
Here are a couple of pictures from this morning: We did some dot-painting at Art Time. Everyone at the table was engaged and having a good time with it. In the 2nd picture Avi, Sophie, and Bubba were all "standing" on their heads. This is one of Avi's favorite things to do - Sophie joined in the fun and then Hudson joined them too.
Hudson and Avilene were playing a form of "peek-a-boo" around the block structure that we built. Then Hudson and Sophie were playing Hide-n-Seek" in the same place. Hudson was hiding behind the blocks and Sophie was "looking" for him. She didn't want to go directly to where he was so she was wandering around the room saying, "Where did Bubba go, where did Bubba go?" Hudson said, "Here I am!" She continued to look so he started counting, like he was the "searcher" instead of the one hiding; "1, 2, 3....." Sophie yelled, "BUBBA! DON'T TALK!!" So then Sophie took a turn hiding and Reid got involved trying to teach them proper hide-n-seek rules. Ha! He didn't like it because they were hiding in the same spot. He said, "You can't hide in aim pot!!" (Same spot) Ha!

Hudson - 5/23/2017
Hudson ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and a couple bites of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of stir fry chicken and vegetables, ate brown rice, and oranges. I wash Hudson off after meals while he's still sitting in his high chair. This morning I also wiped off the place where he rests his feet. I must have touched his foot because he giggled and said, "You washed my toes." :) (Just an FYI - I'm ready to transition him to the table full time so he'll be washing at the sink.)
Sophie had a doll with her blanket this morning and that was her "honey" for awhile. I asked her, "Where's your honey?" And she pointed to the doll. Hudson said, "Here." Pointing to himself! Haha! That was pretty cute. He really does enjoy playing that game with her. Sophie has been using the trays (see in the first picture) as her "skis" and she's been trying to get Hudson to play that game too.
We played outside for awhile this morning. As the weather warms up the bugs start appearing! And it always takes some time for the kids to be comfortable with that! Ha! And of course the bees buzzing around makes them squeal too. Reid was showing Hudson a roly poly bug he found.

Hudson - 5/22/2017
Hudson ate cheerios and banana for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of taco salad - ground beef, lettuce, two servings of olives, tomatoes, and two servings of avocados. He ate pita bread and most of cantaloupe. When we were at the window waving bye to "Daddy Andy" Hudson said, "Bye Andy." Avi said, "Andy!" Ha! So cute.
The kids played on the mattress and I love it when they all play together like in the 1st picture! Sophie and Hudson also played together with Sophie calling him "honey" for a long time. That's what she calls him when she wants him to be her "baby." She's the Mommy of course and spends a LOT of time bossing him around! "Hey Honey! You're my Honey! I don't have a book today because we're running late!" Late to what! "Going to music class!" After breakfast she was sitting in the chair and said she was waiting for "honey" to finish eating. Haha!
Avi had been watching Sophie and Bubba play on these shelves and as soon as Sophie moved somewhere else Avi moved right onto the shelf. She peeking over the edge to check on Hudson! They were pretending to nap, but Avi wasn't really into that game!! Not enough movement for her!
The kids had fun playing outside this morning. Hudson and Sophie got excited when they saw and heard a helicopter!! Sophie and Hudson were saying, "Helicopter Helicopter!!!" Then Sophie said, "I waved at him, but he didn't stop!!" Ha!! I took this picture of Bubba pushing a dump truck down the sidewalk and also when he and Sophie were playing in one of the play houses. They frequently use that house for making and serving ice cream. Sophie was trying to get Hudson to serve her some mint ice cream. :)

Hudson - 5/19/2017
Hudson had several bites of brown rice and ate a few raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of salmon, ate dinner roll, corn, and maybe half of his mangoes. At lunch I told Avi (because of diaper rash), "I'm sorry you can't have mango, Avi Nelson." Hudson started chanting; "Avi Nelson, Avi Nelson, Avi Nelson." :)
When we are outside playing I've "trained" the older kids to point out the dandelions and I dig em out! Yesterday Kenzie said, "The Babies aren't much help finding dandelions!! They just bring the flowers!" :) And she's right. Avi and Hudson understand the game - "Here's a dandelion!" But they don't realize just walking across the yard holding the flower isn't proper procedure!! Haha! They are in the early stages of this important training!
Avilene was playing with a purse and I said, "Hey Avi, that would make a great hat!" She immediately put it on her head and started strolling around with it! Haha! Hudson heard what I said and he got a hat as well - except now it became a much more dangerous game!! :) Actually they were both amazingly careful!
It was a busy morning - Riley was also here because of "Kindergarten Roundup" at her school. So the present Kindergarten Class has the day off. The extra busyness didn't seem to bother Hudson - he just did his own thing as usual; reading books, play with pop-up toys, and hang out with Avilene. Sophie was busy with following Riley so Hudson had the day off!! Haha!! I thought it was cute how he was loving on this rabbit you see in the picture and also notice the purse/hat is laying close by!

Hudson - 5/18/2017
Hudson ate whole wheat english muffin and most of oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of chicken bake with cabbage combo, ate whole grain tortillas, and two servings of baked cinnamon apples.
Baby Nora is back from her Denver Trip and everyone is thrilled to have her back. Hudson was cheering wildly when I took her to the Play Room after Breakfast.
Hudson likes to climb up the steps to the changing Table for diapering so that has been going very well. (I'm happy that the experiment with changing him on the floor is over!! Ha!!) He still does not like the feeling of "lifting" his legs and for some reason it causes him to "panic." (I do have a thought about this if Mommy and/or Daddy will ask me! Ha! I too will try to remember!) Reid has been very sensitive to Bubba during that time (lifting the legs) and has worked very hard and tried different methods (on his own initiative) to distract Bubba. And it's been super helpful!
Here are two pictures from this morning's activities. All 5 of the kids were on the mattress while Sophie and Bubba were practicing synchronized gymnastics! Ha!! Right after this first picture Sophie said, "Gary we want some music; ok everybody line up!!" Hudson was the only follower! :) So Hudson and Sophie "lined up" in front of the mirror and Sophie said, "Ok Bubba! Now do what I do and dance!!" Haha! And he was trying very hard to be a good dance student!! (With a "teacher" who yells and doesn't give a lot of accolades!! Haha!) In the last picture Sophie and Bubba were strategizing some kind of operation, but it was inside information only!! :)

Hudson - 5/17/2017
Hudson ate most of french toast and ate two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate a few bites of turkey burger on whole wheat bun, no lettuce or tomato, ate avocado, and ate tropical fruit.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange last weekend and today was the first time Hudson got to play with these toys. He was very engaged and busy all morning - especially before breakfast. After breakfast he was ready for Story Time and our typical routine. I took this first picture shortly after he arrived and this is what you call getting up close and personal with your work!! He is in the toy shelf with the food toys and more food toys to his right. The 2nd picture shows him getting the food toys all laid across the top of both "stoves." He was pretending to stir and mix and the cookies and brownies were his favorite!!
Here's a picture of Hudson playing with the little xylophones. He and Avi were performing a duet! Avi kept turning her's over and the backside has some "ribs" that she likes running the stick across and the weird noise was making Reid crazy!! He'd get off the couch and go turn the xylophone back to the correct side!! And of course that just presented a challenge to Avi!! Haha!!
We did some "golf ball" art and here's a picture of what that looks like when Hudson is rolling those golf balls around. I love the concentration!! We used to do this with 1 golf ball and no lid - I now use 4 golf balls and a lid!! And it goes much faster!! :) There were times before using a lid when painted golf balls were rolling across the floor too!!

Hudson - 5/12/2017
Hudson ate most of his breakfast: Oatmeal and baked apples. For lunch he ate most of hamburger stew (with meat, carrots, green beans, potatoes, and brussel sprouts), ate dinner roll, and apricots.
Reid was wanting to move past Hudson and said, "Move in the name of the Law!!" Haha! That made me laugh primarily because Reid's Dad is a Montana Highway Patrol!! However, I told Reid that here at Little Treasures we use more appropriate language.....and here's an example; "I need to move past you please." :)
Reid and Sophie were building this block structure you see in the picture below. I asked them why they were building it to block traffic from one side of the room to the other side? Reid said, "To trap them over there!" Who are them!?! :) (Of course I already knew the answer!) Reid said, "Bubba, Nora, and Avilene!" Well at least it worked on one of them; Avi, but only because she's not here today!! Haha!
Sophie and Bubba were playing together for the longest time and Sophie was the "Mommy" and she had an endless string of instructions for Bubba!! Haha! It sounded something like this:
"Honey, You need a nap before music class!!"
"Honey, you wanna sleep in our room!?!"
"Honey, you wanna......?"
"Honey, you need to.......!!"
"Honey......Honey.....Honey.....!!!!!!"
"Bye Honey!!!"......"Why you not say bye to me Honey!?!?"
This is just my opinion: But "Honey" kind of appeared to be in a trance or slightly traumatized!! Ha! Just kidding! I think he was enjoying it....maybe. :) So here's a picture and you can come to your own conclusion! :)

Hudson - 5/11/2017
Hudson ate toasted rye bread and maybe a bite of dried plum for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of pulled pork sandwich, ate peas, and cantaloupe. I'd laid Nora down for her nap and turned on all the sound machines while the other kids were finishing lunch. Avilene (still sitting in her highchair) started singing; "Night night Bubba, night night Bubba." Then she switched to Reid; "Night night Reido." And then she switched back to "night night Bubba" again. :)
Lauralea is frequently leaving for work while the kids are eating breakfast. And she always gives everyone a love goodbye. She hugged Avi, who then pointed at Hudson and said, "Bubba." (Ok, it's Bubba's turn.) She hugged Hudson, who then pointed at Nora and said, "Nora." (Ok, it's Nora's turn.) It was so cute!! Just more of those routines than I always talk about! They (routines) are so important to the children as it builds trust and security and makes the children feel safe!
Well it was nice to have our resident entertainer perform for the kids today. Reid asked me yesterday if he could bring his "kendama" to Daycare today. What?!?! After 10 attempts to understand what the heck he was talking about I had to refer to Google for the answer!! (That's a hint just in case you too have no idea!! Haha!) I took the picture below as he dazzled an appreciative crowd!! :)
Reid was spinning Avi and Hudson in the chair. I took this picture just before they started and it looks like a serious discussion. Maybe Reid was giving a Pep Talk about what to expect during take-off and landing!!

Hudson - 5/8/2017
Hudson ate some breakfast: bran cereal and raisins. For lunch he ate bites of chicken salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, peppers, and olives, he ate pita bread, and lots of pears.
I just love Hudson's language! Here are some examples from this morning: He came in talking about his "new shoes Gary, new shoes!" "From Target!" Then he asked me, "What time is it?" Haha! So I pointed at the clock and said, "There's the clock Bubba!" :) (Otherwise, it's the never-ending question!!) Sophie asked, "Can we do Hickity Pickity?" Hudson picked right up on that and said, "Hey Gary, what your name?! Hey Avi, what your name!? Hey Sophie, what your name!?" Sophie, always trying to stay a jump ahead of him said, "It start with S." Haha! (Hudson's questions showed that he totally knows exactly how the Hickity Pickity game goes!) Then he was saying, "Bye Gary, bye Avi, bye Nora..." Where are you going Bubba!? He said, "To friends." So what are we, chopped liver!!??!! Haha!
I love these pictures because everyone that was here was on the mattress. Sophie said, "Hey Gary!! I did a butt bomb, Bubba did a butt bomb, Avi did a butt bomb!!" What is a butt bomb? Thank you for asking!! (I'm aware that most of you already know this, but.....) Reid's brother, Bode, is the one who started the "butt bomb craze" and it's when they jump, shoot their legs straight out, and land on their bottom! Voila - there's a butt bomb!! So I'm calling these pictures: #ButtBomb!! (So creative!) Ha!
I told the kids to go to the window and see what sweet neighbors we have!! They have 7 wonderful children and here's one of their college-aged kids mowing over on our side of the lawn! Thank you Austin! And then he brought a broom and swept the grass off our parking spot. As usual, Austin goes above and beyond!! He really is a great example of a quality young man! We got his attention and the kids were waving their appreciation.
Hudson - 5/5/2017
Hudson ate malt-o-meal cereal and dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of "beef kabob" meat, ate brown rice, zucchini, bites of peppers, ate mushrooms, and ate pineapple.
I was having fun "testing" Hudson this morning! Haha! I was holding up a book, showing the cover to him, asking; "What's this book about?" and see what he'd say!! It's really quite impressive! "Red dot!" (A book about painting and about colors.) "Twinkle Star." "Went to town upside down." (Silly Sally went to town walking backwards upside down!) "Its spider crawl up spout." Ad on it goes! Well done Hudson!
Reid had gotten out the 2 Big Bears and Hudson found himself a cozy spot to chill for several minutes this morning. I thought it was very cute how he just snuggled in and was studying the posters! Reid has been engaging with the little kids a lot more the past 2 or 3 weeks! And they've been loving it! He was "hiding" under the brown bear and the panda bear and saying, "Gary, guess where I'm at? Can you see me?!?" That was an open invitation to the little ones when they heard him! Then in the 3rd picture Reid was pushing Hudson and Avi in the chair as fast as it would go. And I think they were enjoying the ride! (One time Cooper was having so much fun doing this exact same thing - and then he got dizzy, turned white, and puked!)
We usually get out the tunnels to crawl in on a rainy or snowy day! But Reid asked for them and chose doing this instead of going outside this morning and that was fine. We'll play outside this afternoon! Sophie isn't here, but the other 3 kids crawled through the tunnel and Nora watched. Hudson is in there somewhere!!

Hudson - 5/4/2017
Hudson ate waffle and fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch he ate shepard's pie with hamburger, green beans, mashed potatoes, and carrots. He ate toasted rye bread and a few cherries. I was finishing my breakfast later and Hudson was trying to hang his face over my bowl! Ha! He asked, "What having Gary?" So I told him and then I said (while protecting my bowl), "You people have runny noses, you're drooling, sneezing...." Hudson said, "Coughing!" LOL! Yup, I missed that one!!
Hudson was a happy camper this morning - everything back to normal!! Actually he did very well while the parents were gone!! (That's how cousin Sophie frequently refers to her Mom and Dad!) I was impressed with how well he did. But he was all smiles and awesome mood this morning!
Reid has been very sweet and helping Bubba this week. Primarily with getting his diaper changed on the changing table. If you're curious to the different routine I've made for changing Bubba's diaper you can ask me about it. Yesterday Hudson was sad about something and Reid was comforting him in the chair. Reid said, "I had a great idea to make Bubba quit crying! I ask him if he want to get in my chair and he did!" Thank you Reid! Just before I took this first picture of Reid, Hudson, and Nora playing on the mattress Reid was trying to get Bubba to stand on the blue balance beam. Hudson wanted no part of that and Reid asked, "Bubba, are you afraid of heights?" Then Reid proceeded to give him a "Pep Talk" which I couldn't decipher, except the part about "the highest mountain in the world!" Haha!
In the last picture Reid was crawling under the legos table to pout a little because I wasn't responding to his demands to read RIGHT NOW! Story Time will begin when I finish changing diapers! Hudson had to check out the situation!! (And so did Avilene.)

Hudson - 5/3/2017
Hudson ate french toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of salmon patty, ate whole wheat dinner roll, taste of squash, and ate most of tropical fruit.
I asked, "Ok, who's Poopy!?! Hudson or Avilene!?!" There was an immediate reaction from BOTH of them!! Bubba pointed at Avi and Avi said, "Bubba!!" Oh man, that cracked me up and I roared! It was even funnier that BOTH of them were poopy! (The blame game starts early!!)
These first 3 pictures are from yesterday afternoon. Reid was being so sweet to Bubba and just before I took this picture of Hudson snuggling with him Reid had helped talk to Bubba and calm him while I changed Hudson on the changing table. 2nd and 3rd pictures; Bode came with his Dad to pick up Reid. Hudson seriously adores Bode and was so excited to see him! It was very very cute. He started doing "Butt Bombs!" Dang!! On the hard floor! That couldn't have felt very good!!
This last picture looks kind of "posed," but it's not! Hudson was leaning back wanting Avi to continue to hug him, but she was getting tired of it. Then something distracted her long enough for me to get a good picture. We read books, sang songs, and did some "golf ball" art. I think this was Hudson's first time and I think he had fun.

Hudson - 5/2/2017
Hudson ate whole wheat english muffin and grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork chop pieces, whole wheat toast, sweet potatoes, most of red potatoes and turnips, and ate applesauce. At the breakfast table when Hudson was done he was looking at the poster with the Daycare Kids' pictures. He then started saying "hi" to everyone. "Hi Kenzie, Hi Riley, Hi Reido....." Sophie kept telling him; "They are not here!!" :)
Hudson and Avilene cleared all the toys off the shelves and then played with the shakers or noise makers - whatever they are called - for several minutes. (See picture below.) Avilene had been at the mattress trying to get Hudson to join her. She was yelling, "Bubba, Bubba, Bubba!!" Gradually louder and more urgent with each yell.
We read lots of books, sang songs, and did some Dot Painting at Art Time. Hudson only used one color for a few seconds and said, "I'm done." Which is fine - the last couple of times we've painted he has not been too interested. Here are some pictures from Bubba's activities this morning. He was laying on a toy shelf and Avi was trying to join him. In the 3rd picture Hudson had 2 or 3 masks wrapped around his neck and the harder Sophie tried to get them off the tighter the masks got! So I helped out with that one! And the last picture is just Sophie and Hudson hanging around being silly!
