Hudson ate cheerios and raisins for breakfast. He was doing the "more" sign (or at least something similar - one finger to palm of other hand) at breakfast and it was cute. Good job Hudson! For lunch he ate chicken, dinner roll, carrots (good job), and a taste of apricots and that came right back out. :)
It's pretty quiet around here this morning; just Hudson and Avilene. I should probably qualify that statement; For Little Treasures Child Care having just two babies, Hudson and Avilene, make for a very quiet morning! Avilene went down for her morning nap about 10:00 and it was just Gary and Hudson then!
Here's a picture of Hudson's first project this morning. His eyes glued right on the Legos Castle that was left over from what Cooper and I built yesterday. Let the demolition begin! It was pretty cute because he looked at me two or three times to see if it was an acceptable thing to do. Go for it Bubba!
Hudson played close to Avi for awhile and then moved on to other more entertaining things! He pushed the button on a toy and it started playing music and he started bopping to the music. :) In the second picture below Hudson was practicing lots of walking this morning while hanging on to furniture. His balance is getting better every day and he'll soon be turning loose and taking off. He's frequently turning loose and standing; or at the least he's barely needing to touch something to stand.

Hudson - 6/23/2016
Hudson ate two servings of cinnamon toast and had a taste of melon mix for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked chicken, bun, bites of hash browns, and three or four bites of fresh pitted cherries.
We had a visitor (monitor from the Food Program checking up on my meals, meal plans, records, etc.) and Hudson was LOUD the entire time she was here. :) Not in a bad way, just being loud and jabbering. Then he was really yelling ( I think it was "bye") when she was leaving! Just being friendly in a Hudson way!!
I took this picture first thing this morning when Bubba was sneaking in on Avi from the back side to grab a toy and run! And he was successful!! :)
Cooper was hiding from the little ones - a favorite game of his!! He's between the two yellow benches. You can see a tiny piece of his hair under the yellow bench on the right hand side. That's a pretty small area he's hiding out in!! Once Cooper is out of sight and being quiet Hudson usually just moves on to another place to play. Out of sight, out of mind!
Cooper and Sophie were playing their game of burying themselves with pillows and stuffed animals. Hudson was busy in the background looking at the posters. He studies this alphabet poster more than any of the other posters. There is an animal picture for each letter. And he moves along the entire wall.

Hudson - 6/22/2016
Hudson ate blueberry bagel and three or four bites of peaches for Breakfast. For lunch he ate ham, bites of whole wheat elbow noodles, a couple bites of corn, and a couple bites of apple pieces.
Lauralea was having fun saying sounds and listening to Hudson mimic her sounds. We kept saying, "Bye Lauralea, bye Lauralea." He was saying, "la la, la la, la la." Very cute. When Lauralea and I worked together it was cute watching all the kids try to say her name. It's not an easy name for children to learn.
Hudson crawled over to where Avi was sitting and gently handed her a toy. I think it surprised him when she immediately took it! Ha! At this age just because they hold it out doesn't necessarily mean they want to give it to you, or for you to take it. He was laying his head up against Avi's chest and she's not a fan of "closeness." But he was being very sweet.
In the first picture Hudson is looking at Cooper and Sophie as if to ask; "What did Gary put on my head?!?" "And why are you two laughing?!?" :) Sometimes you have to move fast if you're going to get a picture of Bubba!!
I posted this next picture primarily because of Cooper's comment when he saw Hudson! He said, "He has a tooth like a Narwhal!" We have a book with a picture of a narwhal and Cooper learned that their "tusk" is really a "tooth." That's a legos piece Hudson has in his mouth and he's been playing with it every day for several days. I think it's interesting how they'll find something they like, play with it for a few days, and then on to a different favorite toy.

Hudson - 6/21/2016
Hudson ate waffle and pears for breakfast. For lunch he ate tuna, crackers, sweet potatoes, and five or six bites of mandarin oranges. The last time I tried to give him mandarin oranges he'd barely sniff them and whip his head to the side! So I was a bit surprised! We do the same routine every day after lunch - I wash him up, change his diaper, and carry him to his crib singing "night night Bubba, night night Bubba...." Today he was saying, "nigh nigh, nigh nigh." :)
I'm posting this picture to again show you one of Hudson's favorite morning activities. Clearing the shelves. (Lauralea and I always called this the "dump and run" stage.) Notice the bookrack in the background has already been hit and now on to the first toy shelf! :)
I took this picture primarily to show the cousins sitting side-by-side playing! :) They're playing with the same animal toys that I posted of them in yesterday's Blog. Hudson likes it because there is a handle on the side he can bang on and it makes loud "monkey sounds."
I took this picture of Hudson watching Cooper build a house. Later, Hudson made it to the third step, but didn't yet venture onto the blue "balance beam." Cooper said, "Bubba is starting to get bigger and bigger!" Yes he is!! :)
Hudson did not seem to notice or care that Sophie was trying to help him look presentable! Nice job Sophie!

Hudson - 6/20/2016
Hudson ate corn chex cereal and mixed fruit (just the pears and peaches) for breakfast. For lunch he ate beef sandwich, sips of tomato soup, crackers, and a bite of pickled beets.
I did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Hudson was busy all morning. (He's always busy, but maybe more today. Ha!) The Monday morning after Toy Exchange the Kids are always busily engaged with everything and I don't like to disrupt them for Art, etc. We did have Story Time.
I took this first picture when Cooper was playing under the legos table and Hudson was sticking toys through the crack and Cooper was poking them back out. That was a big game to Hudson and he was laughing. Several minutes after Cooper had moved on to something else Hudson crawled under the table. He's been under there before, but this time he was starting to panic because he was sure he was stuck! You can see his hand in the second picture and he was trying to escape through there and that wasn't working.
These toys you see in the picture are favorites of the kids. There are different animals that go with them an there are several different animals sounds it makes. Also, several times this morning Hudson picked up Cooper's blanket and would hold it in the air for Cooper to see; "Look what I have!" :)

Hudson - 6/17/2016
Hudson ate oatmeal and two bites of canned prunes for breakfast. For lunch he ate hash brown casserole, biscuit, and taste of mandarin oranges.
We've had "company" all morning - and they'll be here all afternoon as well (oops, Update - they just left at 12:30) - it didn't seem to bother Hudson at all. He just stayed busy all morning and Layla (I think about 4 months older than Hudson) would play close to him and then move away to do her own thing. As you can see in the pictures below they are very close to the same size. For those that may not know this, Layla and her older sister Mia were in Little Treasures before they moved to Kalispell. This age group engages in what we call "parallel play." They frequently play beside (rather than with) each other doing similar things. This first picture was taken right when Layla arrived this morning so they are basically meeting each other and getting acquainted. :) So cute.
I like this picture. They are playing with the barns and legos farm animals. Layla is chewing on a cow, while Hudson has found one of Layla's shoes and is checking that out! :) This age makes me laugh. They'll try to hand each other a toy, swing it around and unintentionally bonk the other person. Then Layla turned around to sit down and "Plop" right on Hudson's lap. Then she pushed on the play barbecue and it landed on Hudson. Then together they were opening and shutting the "oven" door on the barbecue and that obviously leads to pinched fingers! They're basically traveling disasters!! Ha!
More play with Layla. They were following each other into and out of the igloo. She's walking, but she'd also crawl with him.

Hudson - 6/16/2016
Hudson ate english muffin and cantaloupe for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey slice, most of bun, ate green beans, and mangoes. (canned mangoes - diced)
Hudson had a good morning and stayed busy - his normal busy little self. The only time he fussed was when he pooped and I had to clean him up regardless of the diaper rash. That sure came on fast and it's super uncomfortable for him. I got his binky for him; which I rarely do and that helped comfort him and quiet him down.
I love these first two pictures! He's busy playing at the book rack and there was a very cute and interesting sequence he followed. :) First picture he's reading the book and enjoying the pictures. Notice in the next picture the book is upside down - very typical for this age group. I always say that they get twice the mileage from the same book!! Next on his agenda was clearing the book rack of all the books! He was standing up at the rack and working vigorously at slinging each book out. And he was successful!! Then he went to work getting all the books back into the bookrack! That is not the usual! Good job Hudson!! :)
I got out the sit-n-spins for the kids to have something different this morning. Sophie is playing with them the more traditional way. Hudson, not so much!! He quickly realized that standing on them was not the best approach!!

Hudson - 6/15/2016
Hudson ate whole wheat toast and several bites of mixed berries; blueberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries. (I fed him one berry at a time and he surprised me by continuing to eat them!) For lunch he ate most of ham slice, ate crackers, bean & bacon soup, and ate his strawberries. I'm proud of him for trying everything and he liked it all!
I took this picture yesterday afternoon and I was actually taking the picture of Sophie because she wanted to be buried under the pillows that Cooper was piling on her. It was only after I'd taken the picture that I noticed Hudson was sneaking in there to see what she was doing. :)
We did some singing and also some sign language. Hudson sat right there on the step and took it all in! It was so cute. He played all over the Daycare room; on the mattress, with the blocks, at the legos table and in the legos drawer, and banging lids on the toy shelf. Love making all those LOUD noises!!
We had a visitor today. This is a picture (I got permission to post this!) of Baby Nora. She was born April 1st and will start the last week of August. Many thanks to Daddy Colin Boyle for the referral to this nice family!! Little Treasures Children were enthralled with meeting a new baby and she looks like she was enjoying herself too!! She was so alert and smiling the entire time she was here!!

Hudson - 6/14/2016
Hudson ate two servings of blueberry bagel and had several bites of canned apricots for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, several bites of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate a few peas, and some applesauce. He'd only ate one pea, but I snuck a couple into his bite of applesauce. Believe me, on the next bite of applesauce he examined it very carefully before he accepted it!! Ha! But he ended up eating several more bites with the peas and he was totally fine with it. :) Also at meal time Sophie has been getting Bubba's bib for him and sometimes putting it on him as well.
Cooper asked me to get out the "big bears" and then Coop, Hudson, and Sophie played with them on the mattress. I thought it was cute when Bubba was squeezed between the bears and the climber steps and he was totally just fine with it. More than just fine; he likes it. :)
Cooper asked me to help them build a "house" with the big blocks. When we were done he said, "Now we're going to hide in here and you can come find us." That's usually the way toddler "hiding" works; "I'll hide here and you come find me." :)
Hudson was hanging out at the legos drawer playing with some legos. A couple minutes before I took this picture Hudson had both hands in the middle of the legos and wildly swinging his arms back and forth! It was making lots of noise and that's just the way he likes it!!

Hudson - 6/13/2016
Hudson ate corn chex cereal and several dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate homemade pizza (well, sort of homemade, just not the crust. Ha!) with canadian bacon and sausage, taste of corn, and bites of tropical fruit. When Hudson was almost done with lunch he started howling about something for a couple of minutes - it sounded like a cry of pain. All I could think of was biting his tongue - even with minimal amount of teeth!! Reid (sitting at the table a few feet away) immediately said, "I didn't do nothing!" Haha! So, if you did not do nothing, does that mean you did "something?" :)
When I was lifting Hudson out of his highchair after lunch I said, "Ok, I'm going to change you now and then you can go night night." He said, "Nigh nigh." Just as plain as could be! I'm sure my mouth dropped open! He had a great morning and played steady. He frequently doesn't like it when Baby Avi starts fussing or crying. He'll start crying too. (Not always, but sometimes.) Oh good, now there's 2 of you crying! Ha!
The big boys were trying to show-off for the little ones again. Reid started it by saying, "Hey Bubba! Watch this!! I'm gonna land on my face!" So then Cooper started saying it as well and to Sophie too. (You can see Cooper's orange shorts in the picture.) As you can also tell by the picture, Bubba and Sophie were super impressed, right!? :)
Hudson was playing with the barns and the legos farm animals. I like the picture below how he's exploring what's inside the barn.

Hudson - 6/10/2016
Hudson ate cheerios and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate a few bites of ground beef (he wouldn't pick it up and eat it, but he'd eat it when I poked it in his mouth), ate toast, nibble of apple bites, and ate the pears from the mixed fruit.
Hudson was pretty cuddly first thing this morning. He was the first to arrive and we cuddled for at least 20 minutes before he was ready to get down. (I call it "filling their love tanks.") Daddy Colin commented on how Hudson's changed in that regard; a month ago he'd give you the stiff-arm if you tried to cuddle and now he's ready to cuddle almost anytime! I totally agree and he's changing in lots of ways! He's really starting to understand language and I'm seeing many examples of that every day. (That's called "receptive language" and is a necessary step before "expressive language.")
Cooper was playing our favorite game with the lids in this toy exchange. The inside of the lids have mirrors and I always ask the kids if they want to see a monkey. Coop was holding it up to Hudson and saying, "See the monkey! See the monkey!"
We played outside for at least an hour this morning and here's a picture of Bubba at Avilene's saucer playing with the toys and practicing walking around it. She gets excited when he's there too.
Here's a picture of one of Hudson's favorite hangouts this week. Every day he's been crawling in one of the wagons and just hanging out and playing.

Hudson - 6/9/2016
Hudson ate english muffin and one blueberry for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, crackers, sweet potatoes, and a bite of cherry.
I took this picture yesterday afternoon and this has become a daily ritual after Kenzie gets here from Kindergarten. She always asks me; "Can you put Bubba on my lap?" Tomorrow is the last day of school for Kenzie so she'll not be coming to Little Treasures after school until school resumes around the 1st of September. (And her Sister Riley will be coming then as well.)
Bubba and Cooper were playing together again and Hudson was laughing like crazy at Cooper's silly antics and of course that's all it takes to keep it going!! :) Cooper was hiding out behind the barbecue. Did you see Coop's eyes peeking at Hudson!? :)
In the picture below you can see part of Cooper behind the igloo and he's entertaining Hudson and Sophie. There are some little holes around the bottom of the igloo and Cooper is poking his finger through the holes.

Hudson - 6/8/2015
Hudson ate biscuit and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate 3 or 4 bites of baked beans, ate bun, couple bites of peas, and lots of bites of strawberries.
Cooper was showing the little ones how to run the spinning toy! Thanks Cooper! Hudson cleared toys off the shelf, played in the igloo, crawled speedily after Cooper, who proudly declared; "I'm faster than Bubba!" Yes, but in case you haven't noticed Hudson's still on his hands and knees! :)
Here's a picture of Hudson and Cooper interacting. When Hudson got to Daycare this morning Cooper was being silly and running from him and making Hudson squeal and laugh like crazy! Cooper said, "Bubba laughs when I bounce things off other things!!" Yup he does!! Then Cooper added, "And when I bounce things off my head!!" Yup, he finds that hysterically funny as well! :)
We played outside this morning for a long time and Hudson did lots of practice walking behind the ice-cream carts. (By the way, I'm sure Grandma will notice he's not wearing shoes so I just want to say you'll have to discuss that with his parents! Hahaha!!)

Hudson - 6/7/2016
Hudson ate waffle and bites of hash browns for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of cheese & chicken quesadilla, taste of carrots, and bites of mandarin oranges.
Hudson's favorite game right now is clearing any surface of all the toys. (Totally age appropriate!) "I am playing with the toys!! This is how I do it!!" (Hudson talking!) :) It's only a problem if another child has put the toys up on a surface for a reason; i.e., Cooper had lots of farm animals out and Hudson was flinging farm animals. Oops!
Here are some picture from outside play this morning. I decided to take the kids outside when it wasn't quite as hot! Hudson was a bit fussy - I think he was getting tired - but I got some picture when he was happy!! Ha!
I took this picture when Reid was going through a whole series of antics trying to help Hudson be happy. (And he was doing that because he's a Sweetie, not because I asked him too!) First Reid was bonking himself in the forehead and of course Bubba thought that was quite humorous! Reid said, "Hey Gary! I made him laugh!!" Then Reid was bouncing up and down in my chair (in picture) and saying, "Ow! My butt! Ow! My butt!" (over & over) And a couple more antics, but you get the idea. Thank you Reid! I love your kind heart! Sophie was intently watching it all!

Hudson - 6/6/2016
Hudson ate cheerios and two servings of banana for breakfast. For lunch he ate cheese sandwich, sip of tomato soup, ate crackers, and 2 or 3 bites of pickled beets. I touched the beet to his lips and he licked his lips and checked it out. It was pretty cute and surprised me when he accepted a bite and then another.
Hudson was lovey and cuddly first thing this morning. I'm enjoying how cuddly and snuggly he's become! :) Lots of fun! Then he was standing beside the changing table holding onto it. He put one foot on a tractor and it slowly started to move away from him and as a result he was slowly doing the splits! He kept going wider and wider! He didn't think it was nearly as comical as I did!! Sorry for laughing so hard Bubba, but it was entertaining!!
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids (Cooper and Hudson - along with Baby Avilene) were very engaged with the 'new' stuff!! Here's a picture of Bubba playing with the food toys. The bottom of the pan he's holding has clear plastic and he was holding it up to his face and peering through it at me. :) Of course he wouldn't do it again after I got the camera!
When I took the picture below Cooper was showing Bubba the art of stacking cups! Then Cooper followed up that instruction with pitching the cups onto the shelves. Hudson, of course, found that to be WAY more entertaining!!

Hudson - 6/3/2016
Hudson had bites of oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch: ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. I mixed it together and fed him several bites and then he ate some noodles.
I'm posting this first picture from yesterday afternoon. Isn't this sweet? I love it. Kenzie loves Hudson and he loves her too. I like how she has her arm around him and is examining his fingers and hand. They both look very content.
Cooper was laying out some "egg-shaped shakers" for Hudson and Avi to play with. He said, "Avi gets three because she's the quiet baby. Bubba gets two because he's the loud baby!" Ha!
Sophie and Reid were not here this morning; just Cooper, Hudson, and Avilene. Hudson played close to Cooper much of the morning and Cooper thinks it's lots of fun to "hide" from him. Here's a picture of Cooper in the "house" that he and Kenzie built yesterday. She put a window in it to peek out of and Hudson was laughing at Cooper peeking at him.
I thought it was cute because Hudson was looking at me in the mirror. This little mirror is on the end of the dress-up rack. I think I have enough mirrors in this room - 4! They are actually quite nice because I can see the kids from just about every angle.

Hudson - 6/2/2016
Hudson ate jelly toast and a couple bites of blueberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey slice, sandwich thin, bites of green beans, and a bite or two of strawberries. Hudson seemed back to his normal self today with no lasting effects from his shots. Awesome.
Hudson was giving Cooper all kinds of loves this morning. This picture shows Hudson's favorite way to give loves; lay his head on you and snuggle up!! Cooper said, "He loves me! He's hugging me again!" :)
Cooper was hiding under the legos table and you can see a piece of a school bus that he had filled with his Star Wars cars. Cooper said, "Is that you Hudson?!" :) Just before this picture Cooper was playing with Hudson while Hudson was banging some toys together. And Cooper was more than happy to give him some pointers on how to be an effective toy banger!
Sophie was playing with the dress-up clothes and stumbling around with this one over her head. She lifted it up to see where she was at and Bubba was right in front of her so she gave him a hug. Then when she took it off he picked it up and put it on his head. :)
Isn't this a cute picture?! Cooper went into the igloo and Hudson followed him right in there. Cooper yelled, "He's bugging me again Gary!!" Ha! This picture is exactly what it looked like when I peeked in there! You can see Hudson's mouth wide open in the picture and he was making lots of sounds. You are being very sweet to Hudson today Cooper! Thank you!
