Hudson ate half of chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate half of ground beef, ate whole wheat hamburger bun, no lettuce and tomatoes, ate half of avocado serving, and ate his oranges.
During story time I showed them a picture and asked, "Why is the dinosaur crying?" He studied the picture and answered, "Because his balloon popped." Yup! You got it buddy! That's an exceptional job of evaluating the situation and coming up with a pretty logical answer. Logic is a rare commodity in my age group. By the time he starts developing abstract thinking (I'm just guessing here, but around 7 - 8 years of age) and more logic you all are in trouble!! Sharp boy!
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids had lots of fun exploring all the toys. Like I've mentioned many times we rarely do anything extra (except read lots of the new books) on toy exchange Monday! Here are a couple pictures of Hudson playing with the toys - masks and doll blankets.
Here's a note from Atley and Avi's Blogs that you might find interesting! Ha! Atley was playing on one side of the room with Nora. Avi and Hudson were playing on the other side of the room. The two groups were out-of-sight of each other. Atley heard Avi starting to cry and she IMMEDIATELY yelled, "BUBBA!!" (With a very accusatory tone!) And went running over to check it out! She was being protective of her friend Avi! Five minutes later it was a repeat scenario. I'd never heard or seen Atley do that before. Super cute! (By the way, Atley was right both times!! Bubba!! Be gentle to your friend Avi!!)
In these last two pictures Hudson was picking up LOTS of the toys and putting them on the shelf and also making a stack on the floor. These pictures don't really do justice to how many toys he had in the top toy shelf! That shelf goes back several inches and it's packed! He said he was "cleaning up for the parade!" Ha! I let him do this for a long time, but eventually he had to accept the fact that the toys are for everyone to enjoy and play with!! Ha!
