Hudson - 1/31/2018

Hudson ate bites of french toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate a large serving of paleo stew with turkey burger, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower.  He also ate saltine crackers and tropical fruit.

I could post a picture of Hudson with Linnea every day.  Especially when he first arrives - he's very happy and eager to see her and talk to her.  He was giving her hugs the moment he arrived!  He said, "She's so excited! Is she excited to play with me?"  So cute.

Here's a cute story from yesterday afternoon.  When Kenzie and Riley arrived from school they were whispering to each other and being very conspiratorial!  Haha!  Here's what it was all about:  They'd switched backpacks on the way to our house after school.  Why did you do that?!  They thought it might fool Hudson into thinking that Riley was Kenzie!  Haha! Cracked me up!  Riley had 3 teeth pulled on Monday and her mouth is now missing several teeth like Kenzie's mouth!  They said it made them look alike!  Of course Riley's shorter and they were wearing their own coats and hats.  Anyhow, it was pretty cute and funny!  Bubba was not fooled this time!  :)

I'm including this last picture in all the Blogs just for kicks.  There are some of you who never, or rarely, see the kids at meal time so here is today's lunch group!  (I took several pictures before I got one where every child is eating and focused on their food.  Ha!  Cheers for digital camera technology!)  The kids do a great job at meal times and know the rules and expectations I have set for them!  Good job everyone!  Here are a couple quotes from Hudson at breakfast and lunch today.  He asked, "Are you letting Atley sit at the table now instead of her highchair?"  Yup I sure am and I have been for the past 2 months in case you missed that!  Then he asked Baby Linnea who was watching from her saucer; "Are you gonna go to sleep now? Yes or no?!?"  Ha!  What a goof!

Hudson - 1/30/2018

Hudson ate bites of waffle and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he had two servings of baked chicken legs, ate whole grain tortillas, corn, and applesauce.  Hudson asked if we were going to read books after breakfast.  (Which we do every day and he asks every day!)  I told him I got 4 new books this weekend and he said, "I'm so excited!"  I knew you would be Hudson!!

I was in the kitchen putting food on the lunch tray and Hudson came to the gate and said, "Gary!  They have their pants off!"  (When he said "they" I knew he meant Atley and Nora.)  So I told them, "You need to keep your pants ON at Gary's place!"  Hudson had to add; "You're at SCHOOL!"  Haha!  He asked me; "Are you the teacher!?!"  Uhhh....most of the time!  :)

Atley was doing some singing today, just like everyday!  I asked Hudson; "What song is she singing?"  And he nailed it; "Farmer in the Dell."  I thought that was pretty cool that she was on tune enough for one of her peers to understand.

Hudson was happy to be back and see his friends and was hugging everyone this morning.  It was very sweet.  So I asked them if they'd do it again so I could take a picture and here's Hudson, Avi, and Atley re-creating the moment!  :)  Well done everyone.

As you can tell by the last picture Hudson worked hard at his legos building.  I love the concentration on his project.  He and Avi also did some puzzles and we colored at Art Time.

Hudson - 1/25/2018

Hudson ate french toast and bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of pulled pork, ate whole wheat bread, peas, and bites of watermelon.  At the breakfast table Hudson asked, "Well how was your day?"  Haha!  Awesome!  "What'd you do?" He asked.  Well so far I cleaned the snow off the sidewalk and am now serving you breakfast!!  :)

I almost cancelled the Blogs for today because it kept coming up "service unavailable."  So these Blogs are running late, but the site is finally working fine!  So this Blog may be a bit shorter!

Nora's "play buddy" Atley is not here today, but Hudson jumped right in and played Nora's favorite game with her and was pushing the swivel/rocker chair around and around.  The first picture is Nora laughing wildly because Hudson kept falling down and of course that's always hysterically funny!  Second picture; Then he stood up and said, "Gary, my muscle hurts."  (while holding his arm)  Of course I was very sympathetic and hilariously replied, "You have a muscle!?!"  :)

Hudson and Avilene were playing in the chair with a doll and Hudson was giving them rides around and around.  Then he got the pillow and was holding the doll's hand and showing it how to make the different designs on the pillow.  :)  "You do it like this!"

Hudson - 1/24/2018

Hudson ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate squash, and two servings of fruit salad.  Avi joined Hudson in chanting after breakfast and lunch; "Thank you Lauralea, thank you Lauralea!"  (For fixing our food.)  Hudson was watching me fix the toast at breakfast and later while eating it he asked, "Did Lauralea make this?"  Haha!

So this first picture is from yesterday afternoon!  Now that Nora can get her bib off the hook she thinks she has to get everyone's bib.  I thought this was so cute because she (the youngest) got Hudson's (the oldest) bib.  This was the first time she'd done this.  So today at breakfast she got all four bibs off the hooks.  But we'll not do that routine because some kids like to get their own.

Hudson and Atley waved at the window when Momma Megan drove by this morning.  Several minutes later Hudson was at the window kissing it back-n-forth - the full length.  (So sanitary!!)  What are you doing Hudson?!?  He said, "Kissing the window!"  Why?  "It got hurt...waving at Megan."  Haha!  Well, Atley does bang on it pretty hard!

More Bubbaisms from this morning:  "Hey Gary, will you turn on some music?"  Sure!  And I start singing for him.  :)  He said, "NO!  Real Music!!"  LOL!
Talking to Lauralea; "Hey Lauralea!  I'm gonna hide from you!"  She was getting ready for work and went downstairs.  He said, "She's hiding from us!"  Haha!

He's so cute with Baby Linnea because he adores her!  When I took this picture he was singing, "Rock-a-bye-Baby" to her.  That was so sweet and cute.  Then he said, "Linnea's trying to say my name!"  :)

Hudson - 1/23/2018

Hudson ate whole wheat bagel and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate shrimp, bites of brown rice, ate most of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries.  After washing for lunch he said, "Gary can you pull up my sleeves?"  I said, "You betcha...."  And he finished it; "Buckwheat!" Hahaha!  I know I say that occasionally!!  "You betcha Buckwheat!"  :)

The first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Kenzie was wanting to take pictures of the kids sitting on some blocks and basically "posing" for her.  That usually doesn't work real well with this age group, but Kenzie got some pretty cute pictures of the kids.  (She's actually showed me a couple of things on my iPhone camera when I need assistance!  Stinking 7 year old technical wizards!!  Ha!)

Hudson was watching Baby Linnea and asked, "Can she do any tricks?"  LOL!  Not yet!  Speaking of the Baby - Avi and Hudson were having an "age appropriate" squabble about who was talking to Baby Linnea!  It went like this; both of them were yelling, "I am!"  "I am!"  "! am!"  The problem was this; the baby was laying on the floor and Avi and Hudson were positioned on each side of her.  And they met in the middle so their faces were directly over Linnea's face - only about 12 inches above her yelling, "I am!"  It was loud and the baby started crying and needed rescuing.  Sorry, but now no one is talking to the baby.  :)  Not a big deal; just normal life at Little Treasures!  :)

This next picture cracks me up!  Hudson said, "Can we watch for Kenzie and Riley?"  Well I guess so, but you'll have to stand there for over four hours!  :)  No problem!  We can do that!  So they watched for 30 seconds and Atley happened to spot a jet flying over so that held their attention for another 30 seconds.  (I'm sure you spotted him, but Hudson is 2nd from the left!)

Hudson - 1/22/2018

Hudson ate bites of breakfast: bran cereal and raisins.  For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, olives, bite of tomato, bite of cucumber, ate avocados, and ate his pears.  We'd sat to eat breakfast before Avi arrived and Hudson said, "Where is that Avi at!?!"  Like Daddy Andy said this morning; "Hudson has a way with words."  He certainly does.  I asked Hudson and Avi if they played soccer on Saturday and they both said, "yes" and also let me know that "coach Joe is still at soccer."

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were busy all morning exploring everything.  The "new" toys keep them engaged all morning so we rarely do Art Time or sing songs on Toy Exchange Monday.  We did read a tall stack of books from this exchange.  When I took this first picture Hudson was reading books and so was Atley.  He asked, "Why is she singing about green beans!?!"  Haha!  That made me laugh.  He obviously thought the tune was "Today is Monday, today is Monday, Monday green beans (some books call it string beans)....."  (That book was in the last toy exchange so she could very well have been singing it.)  In the 2nd picture Hudson and Avi started wearing the masks and Nora immediately joined in as well.  Hudson said, "How do you like my wolf mask!?"  I like it Bubba!!

Avi and Hudson were playing in the igloo and pretending to sleep when I took this last picture.  Moments later Avi was done and Bubba was begging her to come back and using every phrase he could think of!!  It went like this: "Hey Sweetie! Come back, come back."  Not working.  "Come back Sister, come back!!"  Not working.  "Come back Avi, come back!!"  Not working.  "Come back Avi Nelson!!"  Even the stern voice was not working.  "Why you say no Avi!?!  Tell me!!"  Silence!  I think she knows silence is the most effective weapon to use against Hudson!!  :)

Hudson - 1/19/2018

Hudson ate malt-o-meal cereal and bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch - from the baked "beef kabobs" he ate meat, zucchini, peppers, and mushrooms.  He ate half of his brown rice and ate his pineapple.

One of the Kid's Songs that was playing this morning is about a dog named "Bingo."  It spells out the dog's name; "B I N G O."  Hudson was listening to it and asked me;  "Is this about Reido?"  Haha!  That's actually a great question Hudson and quite similar.

Hudson was pushing Atley around and around in the swivel/rocker chair as fast as he could go!  Atley was loving it, but she was doing these extra-super LOUD fake laughs that didn't sound real authentic!  Ha!  What a goof!  She makes me laugh!  (Not fake laughs either!)

We have this daily ritual as we prepare for Story Time.  The kids LOVE Story Time and they all eagerly sit and wait on the couch while I pick out some books, usually from the "Special Book" shelf.  When I put the last book on my stack of books and they know I'm done they all start cheering.  Every day!  It's the cutest thing!

Nora was watching Hudson and Avilene at the mirror with their "hoodies" over their head.  Actually, Avi's is not really a hoodie, but an over-sized collar on her sweater.  (I'm sure there is a name for such things, but I have no clue.)  Anyhow, she had it pulled over her head like a hoodie.  Nora was getting more mad by the second tugging on her collar trying to pull up her hoodie!!  Dang, that was funny.  It looked like she was going to lift herself off the floor with her collar.

Hudson - 1/18/2018

Hudson ate waffle and a taste of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch he ate shepherd's pie with hamburger, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  He also ate whole grain tortillas, and no cherries.

After breakfast I guess Hudson was taking notes for his journal.  (Ha!)  He asked. "Hey Gary, who brought Nora Hansen?"  I said, "Her Mother."  Hudson said, "Noooo!  Her Mommy!"  Haha!  He always makes me laugh!

I was holding Baby Linnea and she was getting tired and sucking on her binky.  Hudson asked, "How did she get happier?"  He waited briefly for me to answer and then he answered his own question; "She got her binky in."  I guess it was a pop quiz!  :)

Well if this first picture looks familiar - it's because this is what Bubba likes to do first thing every morning!!  Hudson loves Linnea and being close to her!!  He said, "I am loving her."  Ahh, thats' very sweet Hudson.  Then he was covering her face with the doll blankets and said, "I'm hiding from Linnea."  Then he changed it to; "She's hiding from you!!"

These last two are kind of silly pictures, but I was actually quite impressed with how far Atley could move her legs apart doing the Toddler Splits.  Wow!  She was getting pretty close to the floor and doing some impressive splits for a two year old.  As soon as I said something about it all the other kids had to come try!  Hudson said,"I can do that!"  :)

Hudson - 1/17/2018

Hudson ate two servings of french toast (amazing what a little syrup does - ha) and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate several bites of "whole 30" (which basically means no beans) chili with hamburger, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasoning.  He also ate tropical fruit and dinner roll.  At breakfast Hudson said, "Hey Gary, is this snack?"  Here is what I said, "I'll answer that after you tell me what meal you think this is."  He said, "breakfast."  Yup, I knew you were just messing with me Hudson!

Here's a random question that Hudson asked me this morning and then asked Atley!  Ha!  "Hey Gary, what's the funniest joke you heard?"  So I said, "knock knock," but that kind of fizzled out before it got started.  Ha!  Then Hudson turns to Atley and Avi, but directs the question to Atley; "Hey Atley, what's the funniest joke you heard?"  LOL  I roared!

I frequently have Hudson go to the kitchen with me (Not for punitive reasons - just preventive.  Ha. He loves to sit and jabber at me.) while I heat up their lunch food and put it on the tray.  This morning  he was sitting on the floor and he said, "Did you say I could get up and dink around?"  Ha!  That made me laugh.  (I've used that term many times.  You're welcome.)

Here's Hudson piling toys around the baby this morning.  Uhhh, those toys are slightly large for her Bubba.  Haha!  In the second picture he said, "I'm playing peek-a-boo with Linnea."

Here's the story behind the picture of Nora putting socks on the changing table.  (I just happened to have the camera in my hand.)  Hudson was sitting on the couch, took off his socks, and pitched them in the direction of the changing table.  I was ready to tell him to pick them up, but Nora immediately scooped them up and took care of his mess for him.  Thank you Nora, but we really don't need to reinforce behaviors that way!!  Haha!

Hudson and Avi had lots of fun doing puzzles this morning.  They basically did all the puzzles in this toy exchange - probably a dozen at least.  I got curious so I went and counted.  There are 14.

Hudson - 1/16/2018

Hudson ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate everything; pork chops, whole wheat bread, roasted vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes), and two servings of applesauce.  At the breakfast table Hudson just randomly asked me if I went to Louisiana.  He said, "Did you go to easy-anna?"  Haha!  Avi knew that I found it humorous so she gave it a shot!  She said, "weesy-anna?"  Haha!!  She gets the cutest twinkle in her eye when she's being funny.

Last Friday one of the toys needed a new battery and I was out of batteries.  I told Hudson I needed to get some new "Double A Batteries."  He remembered that of course!!  Yesterday morning I was putting a new battery in the toy and he said, "Did you get some batteries - some double ones?"  :)

Here are a couple pictures from this morning; Hudson and Nora talking to Baby Linnea.  And in the 2nd picture Hudson was laying on the floor like the baby with the stuffed puppy around his neck like a bib.  Ha!  Pretty cute!

Last picture: I love how each of the kids do the painting in their own way.  Atley was going straight up and down with her paint brush, Avi was using the paint brush at first and then her hands, same with Hudson except he was using his fingers more, and Nora was dabbing at it and trying VERY hard NOT to get any on her hands.  :)  When I took the picture Atley was starting to paint the table and Avi was rubbing her hands togerther!  :)

Hudson - 1/12/2018

Hudson had a few bites of breakfast:  oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch he ate some tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, bites of green beans, and a large serving of applesauce.

Well I haven't commented for a day or two about Hudson's language skills so it's about time!!  I love how he experiments with words, makes up stories, and has fun with language.  Very very cool!!  This morning I was looking out the window and he asked me if I was "watching for Kenzie and Riley?" I said, "No, but they'll be coming after they are done with school today."  The phrase, "They'll be coming" triggered the book/song that we frequently read and sing; "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes." Hudson started saying, "Kenzie and Riley be riding six white horses when they come..."  Haha!  Avilene, on the other hand wasn't going with that connection!  She started saying, "Noooo,  nooooo!"  :)

Here are a couple of pictures from Hudson's morning at Little Treasures.  In the first picture he was playing with the slides and the little cars.  In the 2nd picture Atley and Nora were simply moving the legos pieces from the legos drawer to a pile on the floor!  Lots of noise and lots of fun!  Finally Hudson had to come and inspect; "what are you doing!?!"  :)

Then in the last picture we made a tent with a big blanket.  It's amazing how much fun you can have with a blanket!  There were three kids (Atley, Avi, and Hudson) in the tent when I took this picture, but Nora wasn't about to get in with them!  It did sound kind of rowdy!  :)  She was having fun lifting the blanket, watching them, and giggling!!

Hudson - 1/11/2018

Hudson ate most of whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of hamburger/sausage pizza on whole wheat crust with tomato sauce, olives, pineapple and ate some pineapple on the side.  Hudson was watching me put something in the freezer and he asked; "Does that make it frozen?"  Yes, that's a freezer and that's exactly what it does.  He said, "Do you have peas?"  Yes, I've got some peas in there.  He said, "I told my Mom that last night."  :)  Then he was randomly chanting, "9,8,7,6 Santa is coming!!"  Haha!  (Have I ever mentioned how much he likes to talk!?!)

Atley and Hudson were sitting on the couch waiting for me to start reading at Story Time.  (I was busy changing diapers.)  Hudson said (or this is what I heard), "Atley likes it when I beat her."  What!?!  So he repeated it; "Atley likes it when I beat her."  So I'm thinking I must have heard him wrong!  I certainly hadn't witnessed any beatings!!  Ha!  A couple minutes later while they were still waiting on the couch Hudson leaned over and poked Atley's nose saying, "Beep beep."  Haha!  Ok, so that's what he said, "Atley likes it when I beep her!"   :)

Yesterday afternoon Kenzie and Riley included Hudson in their playing with the food toys and they were serving him kabobs and other things.  So he picked right up on that this morning and was trying to involve Avi in his food play.  I took this first picture when he said, "We need more shish kabobs Gary!!"  Yes, it certainly looks like you have room on your plate for more!  Then to Avilene he said, "If you eat all of this Avi I'll get you more!"  No answer.  "Ok Avi?!?"  No answer.  Now he's yelling, "OK AVI!?!"  She finally noticed he was talking to her;  "Ok."  :)

The kids had fun coloring on their art paper and then putting some stickers on top of it.  These stickers peel off fairly easy, but we have some that are not easy at all.  So I help lots with those, but the kids still like doing them.

Hudson - 1/10/2018

Hudson ate bites of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate roast beef, bite of whole grain tortillas, ate carrots and bite of potatoes, and ate most of fruit salad.

These first two pictures are similar to what I posted yesterday, but Kenzie and Riley elaborated on their building and also on their "production!"  Ha!  They were doing a "play" for the little people (1st picture) and then a puppet show - using the stuffed animals for their puppets (2nd picture).  It was cute how they had the yellow bench for the audience (Hudson and Atley) and then Nora had front row viewing up close and personal!  It was actually very cute and the kids were laughing and shrieking.  (I think the laughing and rowdiness started when the performers started throwing their puppets into the audience!)  Ha!

Here's a note from yesterday at snack: Kenzie sits beside Hudson at the table and yesterday she barked at him: "Hudson! Chew with your mouth closed!"  I laughed so hard.  He's a bit young for that instruction Kenzie.  I'm just happy if they hold their face over their plate to minimize the amount of food that ends up on the floor!!  Hudson just looked at her like what the heck is wrong with you!?!  Then this morning I was flossing my teeth and he's always interested when I do that.  So I asked him if his Mom and Dad floss their teeth.  (Haha!!)  NOPE!  So I told him I'd let them use some of mine.  He said, "Can you send some to my Mom and Dad?  Cause they really need to floss their teeth."  :)

When we were done with Story Time we did some gluing at Art Time.  The kids had lots of fun with it and I took the next picture to post with my comments.  Hudson's art is bottom right and Atley's is beside his at top right.  The kids did really well with it - I'd put some glue on their paper and they'd put the animal right on the glue; well pretty much on the glue anyhow!!  :)  Avi's art is top left and Nora's art is at the bottom left.  It was really bugging Avilene that Nora laid down some of her animals "wrong-side up!"  Avi reached over and was "fixing" them (turning them over) which now left lots of glue on the top.  Haha!  Nora didn't care; she was much more concerned about the glue on her fingers!  :)

Hudson - 1/9/2018

Hudson ate bites of breakfast: toasted whole wheat english muffin and dried plums.  For lunch he ate chicken, most of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and three servings of oranges.  These were better oranges and the kids loved them!

These first two pictures are from yesterday afternoon and I wanted you to see an example of what the after school girls do with the little ones.  They built this three-sided block structure around the front of the igloo with an access hole in the front.  (In the first picture Avilene is exiting through the access hole!  ha!)  Nora is watching Avi leave, Atley is looking at a book, Hudson and Kenzie are already in the igloo.  They had books in there to read to the kids.  The 2nd picture is just taken from the top looking down into it.  (Hudson is actually in the igloo in both pictures.)

We also read lots of books, did some dot painting, and going through the colors.  Hudson is doing pretty well with them and can get them when he takes the time to think about it!  There are different ways to phrase the question obviously, but this morning I was saying, "Can you show me blue?"  And he'd point to the color on the color poster.

I took this next picture shortly after Hudson arrived this morning - still had his hoody over his head! Look how Baby Linnea is grinning at him.  She is such a sweet and mellow baby!  She grins all the time and loves the kids.  She has a brother who is 2 months younger than Hudson so she is used to a busy little person being all around and close to her.  Hudson was piling all the stuffed animals around her head like you see in the last picture.  He said, "I'm playing with the baby."

Hudson - 1/8/2018

Hudson ate several bites of cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch he ate taco salad with ground beef, ate olives, bites of tomato, ate avocado, whole grain pita bread, and a serving of watermelon.

This first picture is from Friday afternoon, but the kids have been doing this lately.  They can see their reflection in the stainless steel bowls I used for the sinks.  What are you doing Hudson?  He said, "stick my head in the sink."  Why?  "See my shadow."  :)

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so the kids were busy all morning checking out the new stuff!  In this picture Hudson was laying out all the food toys he was playing with.  He has carrots, celery, lemon, pepper, and some kabobs ready to go on the barbecue!  :)

I took this next picture when Hudson and Avilene were "resting" on the mattress.  I had to take a quick picture because their "rest time" was very short!  We also read lots of books.  During Story Time we were reading "The Itsy Bitsy Spider..."  So I asked, "Why did the spider spin a web?"  There is a good picture of the web in our book.  (After it spins it's web it's laying back on the web relaxing and wearing sunglasses.  Haha!  No insects in sight!)  So why did it spin a web?  Hudson said, "To roll around on it!"  Haha!  Good one!  You get full credit for your answer!

Hudson - 1/5/2018

Hudson ate several bites of breakfast: brown rice and raisins.  For lunch he ate most of baked salmon, ate dinner roll, corn, and mangoes.

Hudson was having a "conversation" with Nora and it was so cute and funny.  Now she wasn't talking of course, but that doesn't matter to Bubba because he loves to talk continually -  for himself and others!!  He prefers it that way actually!  :)  He was saying things like; "Do you want to jump?"  "Say yes."  "Are you ready?"  "Say yes."  What a goof!

All the pictures in today's Blog are from yesterday afternoon, but I think they're too cute not to Post! The kids had lots of fun this morning; reading, jumping, playing with Baby Linnea, and coloring some coffee filters at Art and then spraying the filters with water to watch the paint run.

As soon as Kenzie and Riley arrive after school the dynamics of the group immediately change.  They (especially Kenzie) like to engage the kids in activities and Kenzie loves to be in charge.  So this first picture depicts that pretty well.  Kenzie has a microphone and she's keeping the kids all moving through the tunnel.  She has Riley stationed at the far end to keep them all going in the same direction!  Go through the tunnel and then run back around to the start!  Nora and Atley were in the tunnel when I took the picture.

Last picture: The Cline girls wanted to go outside and throw snow at the window to make the kids laugh.  Maybe not totally appropriate, but the kids were laughing so hard I had to let it go!  :)  Atley was doing the biggest most contagious belly laughs imaginable!  So funny!!

Hudson - 1/4/2018

Hudson ate a few bites of breakfast: whole wheat english muffin and oranges.  For lunch he ate a large serving of everything; ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.  (This is the groups favorite meal - every child eats everything!!)

I've mentioned this before, but here's Hudson doing one of his favorite activities; piling stuffed animals around the baby.  Then later it was doll blankets and just in case I wasn't aware of it, he let me know that "babies like to play with blankets!"  :)  Thanks for the heads-up Bubba!  Coming to you from the future owner of "Bubba's Tax Service and Child Care Advice!"  :)  Actually he's around Babies enough that he really does know a fair amount; especially what it means when they cry - usually eat or sleep!

During Story Time one of the books showed some black birds and said they like to sing songs and "chatter."  I can't remember how he worded it, but Hudson totally remembered that Cooper said Hudson was a "chatter-box" on Tuesday when Cooper hung out with us.

We had lots of fun doing some sign language this morning.  Hudson knows all the signs we do and we did the signs for the colors as well.  Then we did some play dough and he had fun with that as well.  We use cookie cutters, little rollers, pizza cutters, and plastic knifes and forks.

Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Hudson - 1/3/2018

Hudson ate french toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate paleo stew with hamburger, green beans, carrots, broccoli, and tomatoes.  He also ate saltines and two servings of tropical fruit.  He worked hard to eat his stew to have more tropical fruit.

So here's a conversation Hudson and I had this morning:  (Hudson's words are in quotations!)
"Gary, did you ever watch Lion King."  Yes.  "Now it's your turn."  Hudson, did you ever watch Braveheart?  "No."  Ok, Bubba, now it's your turn.  "Did you watch Daniel Tiger?"  No.  "Now it's your turn."  Did you ever watch Diehard?  "NO!!"  Haha!!

After breakfast all of the kids wanted in the swivel/ rocker chair so I thought I'd bring an identical chair out from our living room.  Nope, now they ALL wanted the NEW one!  Haha!  (I knew that's probably what would happen, but I had to give it a try!)

We had a pretty normal low-key morning with lots of Story Time, singing, building with the blocks, watching it snow, and watching Big Willy shovel his sidewalk.  The kids like to bang on the window and wave at him and he loves it.  Then we played with the drawing toy (whatever it's called - in 2nd picture) and in the last picture Hudson and Avi were playing on the mattress and Avi said, "I"m in a cage Gary!"  :)

Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Hudson - 1/2/2018

Hudson ate bites of waffle and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of baked chicken, ate whole grain tortillas, bites of cabbage salad, and two servings of cinnamon baked apple.

Ok I have permission to tell the good news!  Avilene Nelson is now officially a big sister.  She has a  baby sister named Svea (Svey-ah) who is the First Girl of the New Year!!  Cheers!!  :)

Hudson was so happy when I told him that Cooper was going to be with us today.  He asked, "Is he excited to see me?"  Haha!  Well I don't know, he's not here yet, but I think you're happy that he's coming today!!

Cooper got some kind of a Star Wars watch for Christmas and that was the first big attraction of the morning.  It has a camera, lots of games, and does several things except tell the time!  What kind of a watch is that!?!  :)  (It probably does, but I couldn't get it to!)

In the next picture Cooper had built this block barricade and was "hiding" inside.  Hudson was peeking through the hole and kept yelling, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy...."  (I stopped counting after he said it 20 times.)  Cooper said, "I'm NOT your Daddy!"  Ha!  Later, Cooper said Hudson is a "chatterbox."  Yes sir, that boy has no problem with talking!!

Here's a picture of Cooper entertaining Hudson and Atley.  He was leaning way backwards and at the last second he'd whirl around and catch himself from hitting the floor!  You can see Hudson is loving the show.  He was laughing so hard!  Cooper said, "I'm making Bubba crack up!!"  :)
