Hudson ate oatmeal for breakfast and no dried cranberries. For lunch he ate everything: tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce.
He was singing Happy Birthday for Baby Nora as soon as he arrived this morning and he did it for every parent that came in when I asked him to! I was impressed because he was pretty much on tune as well. He was singing it in his highchair at Lunch time: "Happy Birthday Baby Nora, Happy Birthday Baby Nora."
These first two pictures are also from yesterday afternoon. Hudson had been pulling Avi in the wagon and he was doing a pretty good job too!! When Riley said she'd pull it Hudson happily got in the wagon to join Avi. In the process of getting in he managed to smack Avi on the side of the head with his foot. She didn't even flinch!! (And, like a typical boy, he didn't even notice!) She is so tough!! Baby Nora is watching from the sidelines with a big grin.
Lauralea had some time to hang out with the kids and read to them. As soon as she was done and left for work the kids (primarily Hudson and Sophie) were immediately asking, "read read read." Just like they hadn't read for a long time!! Ha! Which is awesome! LOVE reading to them!! We also did some more painting at Art Time. Except we used a brush or at least started out with a brush. Sophie used her brush for maybe 10 seconds and asked, "Can I use my hand?" Ha! I was impressed with how small a mess that Hudson made!! Not really surprised, just impressed!! Ha!

Hudson - 3/30/2017
Hudson ate whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate homemade pizza - boughten crust so I guess that's not entirely accurate - with hamburger, sausage, red peppers, olives, pineapple, and tomato sauce. And he ate a bowl of pineapple on the side.
I took these first 2 pictures right after all three of these kids were here. Hudson and Avilene were focused on playing with the dinosaurs and Baby Nora is crawling into the middle of the fun. The 2nd picture is a closer view of what they are doing in the 1st picture as well; "feeding the dinosaurs!!" This activity has been passed down for several years by the more "seasoned" Little Treasures attendees. Silly kids.
Lauralea read to the kids and sang songs to them before she left. Here's what you don't see in the last picture: Hudson was furiously yelling at Avi for reading HIS book; "London Bridge is Falling Down." He was screaming; "MY falling down, MY falling down..." and howling. (He was primarily furious because I wouldn't let him take the book away from her, but he recovered.) Avi hadn't taken the book from him; he'd just noticed she had it. She doesn't appear to be too concerned!
Reid called Bubba, "Bode." Hudson loves Bode (because Bode is so kind and attentive to him) and started chanting, "Bode Bode Bode." Reid said, "Bode not here." So I told Reid that Hudson loves Bode. Reid said, "No he doesn't. Him and Bode steal toys from everyone!!" Ha! What does that have to do with Bubba loving Bode!? The logic of children!

Hudson - 3/29/2017
Hudson ate half of whole wheat toast and a couple of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, biscuit, carrots & potatoes, and ate his fruit salad.
Hudson and Sophie were playing on the couch and pretending to sleep. Sophie got on the floor under the pillow and Hudson said, "Good night Sophie, good night!" Also when I was putting Nora to bed for her morning nap Hudson said, "night Baby Nora, night!" He's always quick to observe what's going on and he loves those routines!!
Reid went to the bathroom and was gone for several minutes taking care of business and when he returned he accusingly looked at everyone and inquired of the young group: "Did anyone barf in my chair!?!" Haha! The voice of an experienced Daycare attendee!!
Here's a picture of Hudson and Sophie playing on the couch some more!! Earlier she was singing, "London Bridge" again and he kept chanting/singing in the background; "falling down, falling down." It actually sounded pretty good and blended well together! Ha!

Hudson - 3/28/2017
Hudson ate two servings of whole wheat english muffin and a taste of dried plum for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken with stir fry vegetables, brown rice, and oranges.
Here's a picture from yesterday afternoon when Bode walked here with Kenzie and Riley. (Baby Nora was sleeping.) The Daycare kids were thrilled because they hadn't seen any of them for over a week because of Spring Break! (Reid is on his knees in case you think he shrunk or the others grew quickly!!) Hudson is on the far right.
Hudson does not like being on the changing table - too high - so I change him on the floor. Well of course Avi has that all figured out and when I tell Hudson I'm gonna change him Avi races for the spectator section and secures a front row seat! Today she was sitting there waiting for us to arrive and get started!! Hudson said, "Stay back!" Haha!
Here are some pictures from this morning's activities. Sophie had spotted the Panda Bear in the view finder and she was wanting Hudson to see it. I don't know if he actually saw it, but he's sure looking at the right spot; except his eye may be too far from the toy. They did lots of jumping and playing on the mattress and scrambling in and out of the igloo. Hudson was counting, "1 2 3 4 5" and then charging into the igloo. We did some finger-painting at Art Time. Initially, he was just putting the tip of one finger in the paint, but he soon put his whole hand in it and by the smile on his face I think it's safe to say he was having a good time. :)

Hudson - 3/27/2017
Hudson ate cheerios and banana for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of of taco salad (with hamburger, lettuce, spinach, tomato, olives - ate his avocados separately), ate pita bread, and cantaloupe. At meals Hudson always tells me when he's done - frequently it's when he's heard Sophie say she's done! At breakfast he said, "I done Gary, I done." Now it's Avi's turn to starting mimicking him. She said, "done Yary, done Yary." :)
It was nice to have Hudson back and I know he had an awesome time with Tutu. The first thing he told me this morning was "Tutu spider." I started singing, "There's a Spider on the floor, on the floor..." Hudson said, "Tutu got it." Haha! Then he asked, "Riley coming, Kenzie coming, RiRi coming?" In a 30 second period Bubba called Daddy by 3 different names. I told Daddy Colin bye and Hudson mimicked me, "See ya Colin." Ha! Then, "Bye Daddy." Then on to the window to "wave Dada."
Here are some pictures from the activities this morning. Sophie was reading to Hudson and Avi. Again Avi is learning so many words from Hudson. Love it!! She was bringing me books and saying, "read read read."
This last picture is so cute. Hudson had initiated this play and led Sophie right back to where they were playing last week. (She was being the Mommy and had she had him buckled in the car seat and they were going someplace.) She said, "Wait for Mommy." Then she took his hand and was leading him around. Sophie said, "Ready?" Hudson said, "Set, Go!" LOL!! Good one Bubba!!

Hudson - 3/21/2017
Hudson had two servings of flat bread and ate his grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. Hudson was the only one here for 10 - 15 minutes this morning and he was asking, "Baby Nora coming?" Yes. "Avi coming?" Yes. "Sophie coming?" Yes. "Tutu coming?" Haha! That made me laugh. Uhhh...I think she's arriving sometime today!
Avi was standing beside Hudson this morning and said, "Bubba Bubba." Very clear and plain. Bubba started chanting, "Bubba Bubba Bubba." Yesterday during Story Time Avi decided to go play. She soon returned to the couch where we were still reading and stood in front of Hudson and started saying, "mine mine mine." Just practicing I guess. Neither she or he had anything in their hands.
Sophie was doing a Birthday Party for Avilene. (There are cakes in this food set.) She started singing "Happy Birthday to Avi" and soon Hudson started cheering. Sophie scolded him; "Not Yet!! I'm still singing!!" Ha! In the meantime Avi had wandered off so they "blew out her candles!" Ha!
Here are some pictures from this morning's activities. Hudson likes the phones in this toy set and had all of them on the couch. I took this first picture when he was examining the dial pad and looking at the numbers. He said, "1 2 3 2 3 1 2...." In the 2nd picture Sophie was rubbing his back and saying, "Is that better, is that better?" In the last picture they were going somewhere again. Sophie plans these elaborate outings, frequently shopping ("The Target Store and The Food Store"), and Hudson plays along with it all. I really liked how the front of his hat is turned up.

Hudson - 3/20/2017
Hudson ate some kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch he ate turkey burger on bun with tomato and lettuce, ate avocado, and ate some of cherry-berry blend. The first thing Hudson asked when he got here this morning; "Riley and Kenzie coming?" No, they are at the Farm all week with their Grandpa and Grandma for Spring Break. And Reid will be gone until Thursday.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were very busy all morning. Hudson noticed the "new" stuff the moment he walked in and saw the dress-up clothes. I took this first picture of Avi, Hudson, and Nora all wanting to play with the same toy. I have multiples of almost everything and there are 2 more of these little "pianos" in the room. But it's always more inviting when someone else is playing with it!!
Hudson put on one of the hats and brought one for Sophie to put on; "Hat on Sophie, hat on." Nope, she didn't want to wear a hat. In the 3rd picture you can see Sophie is wearing some dress-up clothes and now it's Hudson's turn to not cooperate with dress-up! And you can see on Sophie's face she's not real happy about it!
But they were soon on another adventure! I love how Sophie has her arm around Hudson in this picture. Sophie was saying, "I have you buckled in." Where are you guys going? She said, "Go to the jungle; dinosaurs there!" Ha! "Ok...we're here...we sneak!" (There are lots of dinosaurs and dinosaurs books in this toy set.) Later, we were reading books and Sophie was in the middle and had her arm around Hudson on one side and me on the other side. So cute.

Hudson - 3/17/2017
Hudson ate oatmeal and most of his baked apples (with cinnamon and sugar). For lunch he had a bite of roast beef ("don't like, don't like"), ate dinner roll, bite of carrots (no potatoes or brussel sprouts), ate apricots.
Kenzie was here this morning and then the Cline Family headed to the Farm at noon where the kids will be for Spring Break. Hudson loved having Kenzie all to himself for several minutes before anyone else arrived. Here are two pictures: "Read Mack Mack, Kenzie, read Mack Mack." So Kenzie was reading "Miss Mary Mack Mack Mack..." She loves to read and is doing so well with it. Then he jumped down and got his baby and blanket; "Wrap wrap Kenzie, wrap wrap." He could think of an endless amount of things for her to do and could barely sit still for her to complete ONE of them! Ha!
Hudson was watching Kenzie and Reid give each other "horsey rides" on the floor. They are a pretty big load for each other and they were working hard! Hudson wanted a ride of course and got on Kenzie's back. Then he got on Reid's back. Well Reid wasn't nearly as careful as Kenzie and Hudson did NOT complete the 8 second ride! Ha! (I actually got a picture of it, but it looked pretty bad! Reid immediately gave him loves and Hudson didn't even cry. I still decided it wasn't a good picture to post!!) And he never asked to get back on either!! :)
Hudson was watching Baby Nora spin the wheel on her saucer and he was saying, "faster faster faster." And she had it going pretty fast!! Then he was "hiding" in the clothes hanging in the dress-up clothes rack. He'd poke his head out and say, "Hi guys! Hi guys!" I said "hi," but I don't think anyone else even noticed!

Hudson - 3/16/2017
Hudson ate scrambled eggs and two servings of baked sweet potatoes for breakfast. He said, "yummy" after the first 3 or 4 bites of sweet potatoes. For lunch he ate bites of pulled pork sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate half of his cantaloupe serving.
Hudson was not a happy camper - off and on - this morning. So I was working hard to get him engaged in different toys. I'll start working on something like you see in the picture below, the kids will come join me, and I'll eventually back away so it becomes their project. Hudson was NOT crying when Andy dropped off Avilene and I was telling him that Bubba had to be woke up this morning. Hudson heard me talking about it and he started howling! Oops! Mistake on my part! Sorry Bubba.
Reid was grabbing Hudson and said, "I just trying to give you a hug Hudson." Then a short time later Hudson was walking around saying, "I poopy, I poopy, I poopy." (Except he wasn't) Reid got down on his level and said, "I'm not responsible for that! You are!" Goofy Reid.
Yesterday and today Hudson has been playing with the little frogs in this toy exchange. He had an armload of them (probably 10) and said, "heavy heavy." Then he put all of them inside the truck you see in the picture. Nora was watching and then she stuck her hand in the top to grab them. Initially Hudson didn't notice. You can see in the picture he's looking at something else.

Hudson - 3/15/2017
Hudson ate most of whole wheat toast and a few bites of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate meat with sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, taste of spaghetti squash, and ate fruit salad.
First thing this morning after Avilene arrived and Baby Nora was taking a nap Avi and Hudson were standing facing each other having what appeared to be a "rehearsal" or "practice session" as they prepped for the day. They were looking at each other and saying, "Mine mine mine....." Ha! Avi's "mine" sounds like "my my my." Neither one had a toy, just standing empty handed saying, "mine." Thanks to Hudson that phrase is chanted frequently. :)
Sophie and Hudson were doing their version of "Ring around the Rosy." When Sophie gets to the "All fall down" line, Hudson is supposed to already be laying on the floor (or mattress). If he needed extra prodding she'd yell, "Fall down Bubba!!" Ha! So he'd flop down whenever she gave him the loud vocal cue! Ha! Went like this: "Ring around the rosy, pocket full of posey, ashes ashes - fall down Bubba - they all fall down!"
We read lots of books, sang songs, and did some "dot painting" at Art Time. Sophie was also organizing a party for them. "Come on Bubba and Avi; it's a Party!! I make cake and get candles. Avi get flowers!" I guess Hudson could just show up!!

Hudson - 3/14/2017
Hudson ate scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of shrimp, brown rice, stir fry vegetables, and mixed berries.
Here's a story from yesterday afternoon at Little Treasures. The kids say and do some of the most humorous things and I LOVE that about my work! Riley was sick at home and so it was just Kenzie coming after school. Hudson loves Riley and he kept repeating, repeating, repeating, and repeating; "RiRi sick, RiRi sick, RiRi sick!?" "RiRi not coming? RiRi not coming? RiRi not coming?" Finally Reid had all he could stand and (quite agitated) said, "She NEVER coming! Ha! (That did not deter Hudson one bit!) :)
Hudson was the first one here today and I went over and sat in the new chair. Hudson got concerned and said, "Reido's chair, Reido's chair." LOL! Reid obviously has him convinced the new chair is his!! If occupancy determines ownership then I'd have to agree. (Reid broke in the new chair yesterday by sleeping in it for over 2 hours!!) Also this morning before anyone arrived Hudson was asking, "Sophie coming, Sophie coming?" My answer: I think she got home. He said, "Boston, Boston." :)
Here are some pictures from this morning's activities. He was reading books before anyone arrived and I liked how he had them arranged on the couch. Then he started bonking them over with his head. Ha! He and cousin Sophie had lots of fun being silly and playing with minimal conflicts! (I'm sure they'll make up for it later! Ha!) In the last picture I asked Hudson to point at the sticker he liked best. During Art I held the sticker paper for him and he peeled them off and applied them however he wanted. Look how he had them spread out and didn't overlap hardly any! That was ALL him and he had a plan. I let them put the stickers on however they want. (You can see his art displayed on the wall today. We need some more recent art on the walls!!)

Hudson 3/13/2017
Hudson had a few bites of breakfast: bran cereal and raisins. For lunch he ate a couple bites of chicken salad (with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados), ate pita bread, and pears.
Bode stayed at the Daycare for maybe 15 minutes this morning before he had to leave for School. (Much to Hudson's delight!) Bode was putting blocks on the igloo for Hudson to knock them off. Then Hudson asked Bode; "Take shoes off, take shoes off?" (See the pictures below) And he's more than happy to help Bubba. I love how Bode likes to engage with the youngest kids in the Daycare. He's a very sweet boy. Bubba adores him and he's a great role model for Hudson!!
After Bode left for school Hudson was packing some blocks around saying, "heavy, heavy, heavy." :) We also read lots of books, watched Reid sleep in the chair, ha! (breaking in the new chair the right way!), and when I asked Hudson what he did last night he said, "Played with Sula." :)
I'm always interested to see the first activity of the day that each child chooses. Sometimes it's what another child is doing, sometimes what they've done the previous week, something new, or with a favorite toy in that set, etc. Avi immediately got some books, like Hudson was doing, and crawled up on the couch to read. I think I mentioned this last week, but she can now pull herself up on the couch so that's another place for her to be rowdy!! Ha! She grabbed one of Bubba's books, he gave her a shove, but she managed to land on her feet. Geez!! Three or four times this morning she was grabbing Hudson's books and sprinting across the room. Little goose!! :) I love how they look so innocent in the picture below!?!?
We played with some legos and I built a house for the kids. Avi likes to take the legos apart and she dismantled this in no time! Hudson was impressed with the house and said, "Whoooaaa, Gary, whooooaaaa!!" However, he was soon mournfully lamenting over and over; "Avi broke it, Avi broke it, Avi broke it." As he stood back and watched the procedure! :)

Hudson - 3/10/2017
Hudson ate malt-o-meal cereal and a few bites of dried plums for breakfast. I was surprised he let me give him more than one bite of those plums. He had a few bites of lunch: "baked kabobs" (hamburger instead of steak, peppers, mushrooms, pineapple) on brown rice, and crushed pineapple.
This is just an FYI: He's been laying on his nap mat for one hour. He went to sleep quickly, but never quit coughing! And now he's awake as well. Poor little fellow! Super hard coughs, so it wasn't a "restful" nap at all!
Hudson, Avilene, and Nora were all playing in and around the legos drawer and table. I'd built a legos house and they like to pull them apart. Reid was also here and he interacted with the little ones for quite awhile on the mattress - grabbing them and restraining them - which Avi wasn't too thrilled about! :) Lauralea observed Reid's haircut and told him she liked it. Hudson got a haircut in Denver and kept saying, "haircut haircut haircut." Then he pointed at Avi (didn't want her left out I guess) and said, "Avi haircut." Haha!
Hudson was saying something and Lauralea said, "He's saying bad cough, or back off." Haha! Hudson heard that and held up his sock to show her what he was doing. He was taking off his sock and saying, "Sock off, sock off." Ha! It was pretty cool when he showed her so she'd know.
Reid was laying on the floor rocking the chair with his feet. Hudson walked around behind it and of course it bonked him on the head. When Hudson started crying, Reid said, "Come here Bubba." And gave him a nice love. Well of course Bubba was enjoying the snuggle and Reid said, "Ok Bubba, can you now get off!?" Ha!
Hudson and Avi were taking turns giving Lauralea loves "bye" and Hudson pointed at one of her coat buttons and said, "What's that?" Avi was mimicking him; "Wuh zah, wuh zah?" ("what's that," several times) Good job of showing her how to say it Hudson.

Hudson - 3/9/2017
Hudson only had a bite of breakfast: waffle omelet and blueberries. He was not feeling well and went home early today, but I'll post a couple of pictures from yesterday afternoon. He was playing with Nora's feet and she was sure laughing. He loves his Nora. Then he went and laid his head in Avilene's lap too. Some more cuteness!
I was looking out the window at the snow this morning and Hudson asked, "Riley coming Gary, Riley coming?" He loves his Riley too. :) It was 9:45. Not yet Buddy. :)

Hudson - 3/8/2017
Hudson ate french toast and strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate salmon patty, dinner roll, bite of squash, and ate tropical fruit.
Before Avi arrived this morning Baby Nora grabbed one of Hudson's toys and he said, "No Avi no, No Avi no...!" Ha ha! Just a habit! And he kind of chuckled. Here's a description of what most of Avi and Hudson's conflicts look like: Avi sprinting away with Hudson's toy and Him in hot pursuit with his arms outstretched yelling; "No Avi no!!" :) After Avi arrived and she was in her breakfast highchair I was getting the food ready and she laid her head down on the tray. That apparently caused Bubba some concern because he started saying, "Up up up up...!!" Ha!!
Here's a picture of Hudson doing some reading again this morning. (And the book is upside down. Ha!) I have this yellow bench sitting in front of the book rack and he moves it every morning to wherever he wants it. And then packs books to it. Speaking of books, he knows so many of these. When he opened the one in the picture he said, "Rain rain go away.." Then when we were reading later I will frequently not say the last word of the sentence, paragraph or whatever, and see if they can say the last word. He did very well on the "Lady with the Alligator Purse" this morning! Good job Hudson!!
He is "feeding" his baby some food. :)
In the 3rd picture I'm always very watchful when these two get into a tight spot. A slight possibility of conflict? Ha! Right at 100% I'd say! Check out the last picture: regardless of what this looks like, Avi was the primary aggressor and Bubba was trying to make a getaway!! :) "No Avi no!!"

Hudson - 3/7/2017
Hudson ate a breakfast combo: scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. For lunch he ate some of everything: pork chop, whole wheat english muffin, vegetable mix, and applesauce. The vegetable mix was "roasted root vegetables." Baby red potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and Brussel sprouts. Yes, I know brussel sprouts grow above ground, but 3 out of 4 is not bad! :) He primarily liked the beets from that dish. At the breakfast table I asked him what he did last night: "Play with Sula." Who does Sula live with? "Momma." Who's dog is Sula? "Momma." Ha! "Momma" is his default answer to most anything!!
This first picture is from yesterday afternoon. I primarily like this picture because all the kids were playing close enough together to get in the same picture. Riley is the "little Mommy" taking care of Baby Nora. Kenzie on the left, Hudson on the right, Sophie in the middle, and Avilene in the foreground. Reid had already left for home.
This first book Hudson is reading is "Baby Beluga." He picked it up and said, "Baby Luga, Baby Luga." This age group amuses me when reading books because they don't really care if the books are upside-down, or right side up! And here's 2 pictures from this morning showing Hudson doing that. I always tell everyone they get twice the mileage out of the same book!! He was saying, "Read Gary, read." Over and over. I told him I'd read as soon as breakfast was over. Recently he's been calling every meal "snack." Minutes later he said, "After snack, after snack?" Yup. When he sees me coming with the food tray he starts yelling, " snack, snack, snack!!"
Here's Hudson sharing some "orange juice" with Baby Nora.
